4 - Ronald Araújo

Every time he plays a big game his value is going down, so we better save him for low level league games even if no one is watching those so at least we get something like 20m in the summer

This forum... Let's blame him for yesterdays shit show of the entire team. Yes he was horrible but so were the others. Lewa walked the entire game, Fermin was a pure disaster. Gavi and Raphina were awful and Yamal was invisible. Tek made a stupid penalty, Martin did't contribute at all. However, lets's blame Araujo for everything.

He isnt being blamed for everything and far more than him being commented on... but he was absolutely terrible again and showing same issues as previously on ball.

One of the legitimate arguments for Araujo should be that he will help defend big/physical strikers... Guirassy got a hat trick.

Form has been off for around a year now for us, bar a game or two.

Part seems to be mental, the PSG mistake, frozen out for contract disputes. Then played decent until renewal and dropped off again after losing his spot post renewal.

Might be best for all parties if we move on. Shame as I like him at his best as a player , but reality is we are better off with a little less in speed, recovery and low block defending to get a little more on the ball, positioning and tactically.

In this modern era, atleast you can get ball playing centres that have a bit of physique to them unlike a few decades back.

He always been mediocre on the ball. That is not as big a hindrance to the team when you consider he is playing alongside Pau 'de Bruyne' Cubarsi, as what has been made out.

The problem is not even the high line. He can learn to play that with a full pre season no problem.

THE PROBLEM IS IS THAT THE FANBASE EMASCULATED THE GUY AFTER THE QSG ERROR.

Castigating him for being rash, too aggressive and for diving in. Yet it was his aggressiveness and diving in that made him great.

You can have one of two Araujos.

1). A beast of a defender who is super aggressive and going full pelt from minute 1. This version comes with the odd brainfart because there is sometimes a lack of order in Araujos' chaos.

2). You take the rashness and aggression out of his play and you are left with nothing. A shell of a defender. Akin to asking Roy Keane or Gattuso to calm down a bit. What's left? Nothing. That's the Araujo we have today. And we the fanbase have played our part in creating it.

Am I wrong in saying before the PSG error he was the best defender in the world? Was he not the best player on the park before that error? Did he allow the ' best Kung Fu player in the world' a kick in that game? Does that player suddenly disappear after 1 season?? In his prime??

WE'VE CASTRATED HIM, !!! He was the alpha bull in the pen and we chopped his bollocks off. Not only that, we make him ride a tricycle.

Now, a wise man once said :

" A bull riding a tricycle is neither good for the bull nor for the tricycle! ".

And that wise man was Don Laporta Estruch, and the date was April 2025.

The only reason he's playing at this level is because he's physically gifted. He has very little talent or tactical ability.

He's like the Moussa Sissoko of defenders. Wouldn't be a pro level top flight player if he wasn't physically gifted.

And then blaming his teammates for not closing Dembouz down quick enough

Never change, Don URUGUAYO.

😆 🤣 😂..... a lot of jaundiced reasoning and gallivanting here.

Why are the posters here acting like Dortmund did not create a good number of chances in the first leg even with all the first choice defenders present?? Many analysts and some coaches called it out after the match that Barcelona were lucky not to have conceded, with their lower than expected defending.

If Ghuirassy and Adeyemi were not so wasteful, chances were that the scoreline would not have been as wide as the 4-0 the match ended with..

Midfield is shit now(excepting Pedri). Any team with an easy to pass through midfield like Barcas current one, would have its defence exposed easily even if they had a VVD like player in all of their back 4
Nah we didn't concede many chances basically just the last 15 mins of 1st half

All game Dortmund had 0 shots on target iirc

😆 🤣 😂... Zero shots on target? Which match did you watch?

Go watch the match highlights again, bro. Per UEFA website, Dortmund created 13 goal attempts with 3 having more than 50% probabilities of a goal and you say that is "not many"?

Ghuirassy alone missed 2 clear chances after 1-0. A more clinical team would have made the first leg more competitive. The 4-0 flattered Barca.

I wish you would give the likes of Inter or PSG that same number of chances and lets see the outcomes.

I see the text, I see the video, but all I register is seeing Stegen blown over by the wind generated from the football.
