He's having the surgery this week, I've read it now on Barcelona's official website. They're removing "a Baker's cyst" from his right knee.

Cugat and Pruna should probably be under more scrutiny. It might coincidence but Gabi, Puyi and Cuenca have all needed multiple surgeries after the initial operation and the recoveries have been longer than projected in each case.

This is really the best time for any surgeries. He's not at the Conf. Cup, and he has a few months off before the real games start in late August.

We definitely need another CB. Puyol is always injured , Mascherano not good enough, Pique not world class and Bartra no experience and not much talent...
I really wish that Zubi and Rosell are acting to buy a new CB because if they don't, we can say good bye to C1 for a long moment.

The FC Barcelona captain will undergo surgery to remove a Baker's cyst from his right knee

The player will be out of action for three to four weeks

Carles Puyol will undergo ambulatory surgery on Wednesday morning to remove a Baker's cyst in his right knee.

The surgery will take place at the Unitat del Genoll of the Institut Català of Traumatology and Medicine of Sport. The player is expected to be out of action for three to four weeks.

Press conference at 12.00

At noon, in the Ricard Maxenchs press room, Doctor Ricard Pruna will hold a press conference to talk about the procedure.

It’s worth noting that Puyol featured in 22 matches this season and he hasn’t made an appearance in an official match since March.
