Great moment and gesture by Puyol last night to give Abidal the honour of that, really shows what a great team this is in terms of spirit and pure love and admiration for each other.

Will go down as one of the best moments in this club's history

I went through three different phases last night.

1) First I thought it could be kinda cool to see Xavi lifting the trophy (then I wasn't thinking clearly and I didn't click that Puyol could easily take the armband from him)

2) When Puyol came on I quickly changed my mind - it's his job after all, he's the man to do it

3) Finally I saw Abi taking the trophy and I totally forgot about everyone else. There wasn't a better choice.

One of the few surprises in yesterday’s Champions League final was the absence of Carles Puyol in central defense. After struggling with injury for a good part of the season, it was revealed in Sport on Sunday that Puyol will undergo arthroscopic surgery this Thursday, June 2. It is hoped that the procedure will end once and for all the problems that the talismanic defender has faced this year.

The surgery will be performed by doctor Ramon Cugat at the Dexeus clinic in Barcelona. Puyol is expected to recover from the surgery in about six weeks, a time frame that would see him back in the squad in order to participate in Barcelona’s pre-season which begins in mid-July.

Hope he gets well.

And I just cant stop thinking about that he in a season or 2-3 most probably will retire. He is 33 years old and the injuries are starting to come. It saddens me soooo much and Im sure I will drop a tear when he does retire. Same with Xavi, I just cant imagine a Barca without him :(
