Him Roberto and Rafinha are safe backup autopilot options .. typical Barca midfielders who do the job .. not poorly nor with excellence

This is also evident tonight; Puig is the true gem of La Masia as far as the current generation goes.

I liked how friendly he was to Dembele when he went to sit down on the bench, little Alves vibes, at least locker room isn't as depressing as I thought it was.

His biggest enemy is consistency both in terms of playing times and his level of performance. He might be able to overcome the latter if he is able to play regularly.

His biggest enemy is that the manager doesn't trust him enough to allow him to build consistency. Very complete midfielder. Can pass, can defend, is pretty strong on his feet, has very good workrate, and very good finishing touches.

Roberto - De Jong - Alena was very fluid, dinamic, and completely played Napoli's midfield off the park.

Wasn't a fan of his performances in Preseason as they seemed subdued and rather meek and I felt he can be much better than what he has shown and sure enough he showed it yesterday.

For me, if he wants to have a future here he needs to keep showing he can provide something different. We already have a couple of guys who can effectively recycle possession and distribute the ball with no problems even under the press, we need a guy that can be direct in the Midfield and Alena certainly fits that bill.

He needs to be consistent and not need to play it safe all the time due to fear of Valverde thinking what he did was wrong, just play your game the way you use to do in the youth ranks and Barca B.

Kid is good, delivering key passes left and right. But can he score 3 goals per year so that we can officially call him an attacking threat ?

Since you are trolling, the same reply:
= even entering the attacking third with the ball, and not being scared that he will get frozen if he enters there will do the job.
That is already miles better than what some other players are offering.
