Named in the squad for the second leg of the copa tie against Valencia. He's the only Juvenil A player in there.

Excited as well, although I am again not thrilled with the idea of placing the young players in a pressure situation like Lucho did against Leverkusen. Even with qualification & 1st in the group done & dusted, we didn't learn too much in Germany.

Valencia will play some of their B players too while Lever was going strong still hoping for qualification.

Disagree here. In terms of learning, a highly contested game like Leverkusen is probably more beneficial than a training rollout against a lowly side without any hope/resistance whatsoever.

What did we learn in that match versus the risks to bringing youth kids along?

It's a moot point anyway as it seems Gaz & Valencia have taken a similar approach to tonight calling up youth players and resting veterans

Wow... He must be on cloud 9 right now.... Skipping the B team and getting on the first team bench. Hope he gets on and scores a goal. That would freak the footballing world out big time

Calling up a Juvenil A player to play for the first team again. Oh, Lucho, you. This gives me flashbacks to when Lucho gave a certain striker who was really hot at the time a lot of minutes with the first team the same season he'd been promoted to Barca B...

I really wouldn't spend many a sleepless night over that, buddy. We're stacked in midfield, and you can bet this won't repeat itself more than a few more times this season, if at all.
We've finally got a free game, which Lucho smartly uses to introduce a youth player to his future stomping ground. Really, what's not to like here?
