For a 17 years old, that is all. He plays well with his current age and ability. Though there some reactions like him owns Pogba which is wrong.

It is true that the bar for players as young as him is essentially just not be bad, but he showed a bit more than that for Barca.

Honestly, I think he still needs time with Barca B or he will end as the Bojan of midfield
I know he has some serious hypes right now but don't think he will become Bojan of midfield. Stronger mentality so far, technical ability i don't know though.

what expectations can u really have from a 17 yo boy ?
Seeing him start for Spain as a 17 yo against teams like France in a final is insane even for a friendly competition like this or whatever it is.

Honestly, very few though Bojan didn't have strong mentality when he was 17, what he was doing back then was exceptional for his age.
I think it is lack of proper development that hurt him the most.
I think Gavi worst enemy atm is the state of the team that is forcing him to skip parts of his development.
4 years from now, he would still be a young midfielder that shouldn't be asked to carry a midfield, that is how young he is.
@Khaled. I think what, if anything, would be a hinderance for Gavi is that Pedri is there. Ideally you wouldn't be building an elite level midfield trio when one is 17 and the other is 18.
Gavi seems flexible enough to have minutes in RW or even LW (the Iniesta route) mind you. But it is something to think about, and the same would have been the case had Ilaix stayed and got those minutes.

He has no dribbling or speed to be a winger.

Iniesta played 54 games with Barca B, Gavi had 3.
Iniesta played 6 games in 1st season for 1st team when he was 18 (completed 19 that season) while Gavi already played 7 games at 17 and couple of months.
Iniesta dribbling is on another level than Gavi.
Midfielders takes longer to establish themselves and dominate that line, probably don't hit their prime before 25.
There is a lot to learn in lower level, to be able to establish your creativity and balance between fundamentals and flair, to balance between energetic and stupid fouls.
I do really like the kid, but he has long way to go and I honestly believe the only reason he is playing because we are just desperate.
I really fear we won't give him proper time to develop

I don't think fans are going to boo him or anything if he has some bad games. It is to be expected. Youngsters play more than they should be playing because we don't have top players in their mid-20s, which as you say, is considered a player's prime years.
For me, the next 1-2 years are going to be about giving time to talents and stabilizing the club financially. The pressure is low, really, top 4 should be an easy target. We are sort of like Arsenal for the near future, whether we like it or not.

The main problem is there is assumption that 1st team minutes is always good for youngsters, which IMO is far from the truth.
It should happen in the right time by the right amount and becomes gradual. I simply don't believe that is happening with Gavi who is being rushed into first team, which is happening prematurely IMO.
Our top priority in the next transfer windows should be getting veteran help that aren't ancient, replacing our own ancient players with those.
Not sure what fan booing a player has anything to do with what I said.

First team minutes are good for youngsters if you don't pressure them too much. Also, never do what Koeman did with Pedri, which is play him 95% of possible minutes or something.

I remember moaning about Messi not being a clear starter ahead of Giuly, and Ronaldo being used as a sub a lot by Ferguson the first year/years.
I don't necessarily think it is crucial to go slowly, but I think there is a little window for players in these years when a lot of development and working on habits is possible. I think Frenkie is past that window, and maybe even Pedri tbh.
Gavi seems to be on a good path where most of his habits are already sound and he could just benefit from playing both physically and mentally. My main concern if he plays too much is maybe injuries.
