Yep, so basically we have to sell part of the club every season to register our Gavis and Araujos. Lmao.
If that doesn't show the idiocy of this and Tebas doesn't understand that he should be sacked right now. This is madness.
Basically they are trying to ruin Barca for life.
The rules are there to protect the long term financial health of the leagues club. In a way, we have to ignore the EPL and trying to compete and just look at our microcosm for Spanish finances.
So I get the overall ideal of Tebas even if there are more than one model to make the league sustainable. And a rival candidate never adequetely proposed an alternative before the CVC signed. The CVC in itself killed the natural growth of mainland Europe, which would have been a succession into a SuperLeague with the national leagues promoting and relegating to it. But that's a topic for another day.
Back to Tebas, you can't have salary caps ballooning and then subtracting by 200m+/- season after season. It defies logic and needs an exception applied to it so it can be regulated OVER TIME. Which we are admittedly doing while trying to stay competitive (which is another way of saying staying marketable) thus being an asset to Spains LaLiga.
No one is going to pay big money for LaLiga sponsorship or rights if Barcelona is another Bilbao, unless it is a propped up contract like Qatar with Ligue1.
I don't know how much truth there is to it, but today MD reported that Barcelona have informed LaLiga that the salary mass of Pique (deferrals owed) has been cancelled. If that is true (and it could be possible with Pique as he could exchange it for business concessions such as Camp Nou rentals) then that is a huge salary reduction, which should facilitate a nominal contract renewal like Balde at the least.
But Tebas is very Spanish, and in that blinkered that concessions can not be made to his model. And especially so, when Barcelona have gone against his CVC plan, which he has taken personally and not on a business level- which is again very Spanish.
