Great to see him performing, def prefer him over tractor but still not convinced with him long term. Had these purple patches of good form before and then turned into a tuna for weeks/months again. So wouldn't mind selling if we can get around 25-30m which is around his current market value (acc to TM) and value on the books.
He will aim to be part of WC squad 2026. Seems like DLF likes him so the playing time he gets will be enough for a call-up I think.
If he'd hear "you need to play regularly to be a part of the squad" he'd consider leaving, but now, no way.
Very happy with him this season. 10 goals in 938 mins is no joke. But the issue with him is that once his confidence diminishes, he could easily go back into a slump of turgid football.
His story here is not over. Up to him to contribute more and more. If Joselu managed to score 2 goals vs Bayern in the CL semis and impact the season in a big way for Madrid, no reason an in form Torres can't do it also. Quality on the bench is a key part of being an elite team.
If we could move on the market and make it a core of 5 players in attack who could contribute constantly for 3 positions, we'd be golden.
