How is it not a world-class performance? 2nd highest rating on WhoScored, he was moving well, good first touch, good linkup, and the goal was great. I don't even know what are you complaining about, if this was Abel Ruiz you would be screaming how he is the next Messi

lol what makes u think that i rate Ruiz? The guy is trash. But comparing a Barcelona B player to Coutinho who cost us well over 100 million is ridiculous. Coutinho was invisible in the first half and slightly improved in the second. His strike made it a decent performance nothing more nothing less.
If that's what we should consider world class we're done out here.

All it takes is a critical goal in CL and that bad transfer is suddenly a great transfer. He pulls a shot like that like Iniesta did vs Chelsea, at a time like that, and he's a Barca legend almost.

Thank God some people here are not in charge for Barca. He was great today and all of you haters can write whatever you want. :D

He did have a good game, and he's been not bad for a few weeks now, but that doesn't change the fact that he's having a rubbish season overall. And that also doesn't make him a winger suited for Barça. Dembele on his best day is miles ahead of Coutinho as a winger. Even Malcom might have more to offer at that position.

So if nobody at the club plans to make a midfielder out of Coutinho, Barca should still sell him.

I'd like to add that even if he had a good game today, his performance wasn't a €160m player caliber.

Now if he can be useful for a CL win at the end of current season, I'm all for it. Damn, I'd be happy if he proves me wrong but I don't see that happening honestly.

Today he was worldclass - 2nd best player om the pitch. I consider this very good performance on level with messis normal level nowadays. He looked like a 150m player today, but he has still a long way. I really liked that he could room in the middle and link up with messi and suarez.

Keep it going Cou, and dont mind The haters

No doubt he's flopped greatly. One of the worst transfers ever. But you just have to look past the price tag, he's not capable of matching it.

And take what's given.

Exactly. Nobody is saying it was good business but he is a contributor to a treble chasing team. Further, are we better because we largely turned Neymar into Coutinho and Dembele, yes.

The Coutinho-exiteers should be thrilled, he may have just tacked on 20 mil more on his transfer fee today.

For me I think about transfers out after the season, and just focus on the squad all playing the best they can and going for trophies--and Coutinho has been contributing to those pursuits for 10 weeks.

1st half - flop

2nd half - superb

Let's hope PSG watched only 2nd half and sends us a 200 mil offer.

Or now he isn't transferable anymore after a trash season for this goal scored agains united ?

I really want him to succeed here, but if truth be told, goal aside I thought it was a pretty average performance.

The problem is that he doesn’t stretch defences, and he offers little threat in behind. Valverde plays him in exactly the same way each match, but seems to expect different results.

Play him in MF or sell him.

He was only trash from post world cup through January. He has been a good contributor since than while we put a stranglehold on the league, CDR, utterly smashed Real's whole year, and now are in the CL semis with Dembele hardly playing because of his fitness problems. He also played great last spring, but the only thing most around here remember form that period is a match in Rome where he wasn't eligible b/c they changed the cup tie rule too late (I bet we wouldn't have lost and if nothing else we have the semifinals we will get this year).

I think selling may well be the right thing for him and club this summer, but he is a special player and big clubs will be sniffing and we will get most of our money back if it comes to it.

He should play as an AM if hes going to stay.
Dembele is better in LW.
Extremly depandant on everything going his way.
If things tart going against him, he completly looses it.

and he doesn't deserve to be a barca player by the way he is playing.

he scored 22 but why should i even care about how many he scored for liverpool out of those 22 ? He scored 8 for Barca and assisted 5. That's all I care about.
No he scored 15 assisted 8 for Barca last season.

Happy he had a good game, finally. His attacking up the middle was pretty good. Needs to improve still but flashes of his early last season form. Also, anyone know what he said to the fans? Seemed like he was angry at the fans? IDK
