7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

He's good enough and will fit in just well. Can actually play multiple positions too unlike makeshift players which is good for the depth and rotations. But!! We still need a Xavi-esque CM. Couratti midfield would've been ideal. Oh well, let's at least hope that we don't force a position on him which he doesn't play and isn't used to, like we usually do with other players and then whine that they aren't good enough. Coutinho's strenghts lie in creativity in the final third which is also what we've been missing. But I repeat he's a solution to only half of our midfield/final third problems. So we either get a WC CM, pray that Bob, Raki or Gomes step up, or come up with a new formation. Phew I wrote too much

What matters is that Coutinho has Barca style in him. So we will get a player who we can integrate in less than 1 month. He already is the best player at pass&move at Liverpool. He has a very good football IQ, has a final pass, has a great shooting technique, and on top of that, he seems to be a great guy.

Humble, hard working, doesn't have a selfish ambition of being the first as he puts his team above individual glory, has chemistry with Suarez and might help with faster reignition of the Uruguayan's spark. I'm sure his arrival will make Sua happy. And when he's happy Messi'a happy too

i'd like to see him in barca but not for the money it is speculated,he's not worth more than 70-80m

Look at it this way: Ney wasn't worth 222m either - nobody are. Due to the circumstances of this rather late transfer, we're not likely going to get any players for their real market worth this window.

Why do you care so much about the price? Are they taking your money? We got 220mio from Neymar sale-this should be all spend to replace him. WE DESPERATLY NEED Coutinho+some other guy (dembele, dybala, mbappe).

It's a reasonable price considering how much players like Lukaku and Morata cost. And the market's been crazy ever since Pogba's transfer. Teams ask 30 mil for nobodies, 150+ mil for Mbappes. The prices are really unstable now so 100 mil seems logical in this chaotic case.

Not happening folks, this summer unless we receive an astronomical fee and we get a replacement in. Plus as I reiterated he won´t go before our 2 legged CL play off. Even if he plays in those games he´d still be eligible for you in the CL proper if he were to sign for you.

Only way I can conceive that changing is if he hands in a transfer request (that´s my opinion not anything I have heard). Which is unlikely as from what I´ve been told he has accepted staying here for one more year.

So to sum up if he signs for Barca it will be because Barca have either a) put the three tier payments into one lump sum AND b) increase the fee from 100m euros to at least 120-130m euros with 100m up front. PLUS we manage to get in a replacement once our CL fate is known.

We won´t go into the new season with no coutinho, Lallana injured for 3 months and no additional midfielder. Unless FSG fancy committing football suicide.

This might be the opinion of the managment but not owners Fenway Sports Group. If FSG decided to sell (which what I heard) then Klopp and rest of Liverpool managment can't stop it.

I dont think anyone has mentioned it, but Coutinho actually has La Liga and playing in Barcelona experience, which makes him better big name signing vs others.
Not sure how many people know that fact, but he spent spring of 2012 in Espanyol on loan, being pretty successful. 5 goals, 1 assist in 16 games is not too bad for 20 year old kid back then. Think he had quite a few injuries early on in his career and he still is a bit injury prone, but he has always been a big talent and would fit Barcelona very well.

Now watch what Dembele did with 19 in Dortmund.

I want both.
