Coutinho is going nowhere and tbh who cares? Our stupid board should have started with bidding in June not this late. We have good relationship with Liverpool so better not to strain it.

So I have interesting news. There was a board meeting to discuss the 100m Euro offer. Most of the board agreed to no sale, but there ones that did. They fully expect (which I reckon, but this is me just guessing, the whole Tuesday thing) Barca to come back with a bid we cant refuse. They have also threatened to move one to there targets (fingers crossed). So Cou was left out of the friendly, just in case. Theres a mini kind of battle going on in as much that - Klopp and board members have said they want to keep him and he plays V Watford. Others are saying keep him out of the game in case he picks up an injury and then any deal would fall through.
So my take on it, and again this is pure guess work, if he plays against Watford he will stay regardless of the bid, if he doesnt then I think we are waiting for Barca's huge bid.

On of the things you may have read which has got legs is Lanzini of West Ham. He would be bought in as Cou's replacement.

Thanks, nice to see insight from the other side.

We won't ruin our relationship. We didnt' go behind their backs and approach Coutinho without Liverpool knowing that (that's when relationships between clubs are ruined most of the times). If we'd do that those things would already gone public and there would be no way they would be still prepared to talk with us. Liverpool knows we are interested in Coutinho and it seems they are at least willing to listen to our offer(s), probably also because of good relationship and some deals we've already made in the past. It doesn't mean they'll decide to sell but if what AnfieldEd said is true (and I don't have any reason not to believe him) there are also some board members that are prepared to sell for the right price. If clubs will reach a deal then everyone (well, except Klopp and Liverpool fans) will be happy if not they will just move on with no hard feelings. It's business and both sides undestand that, until everything is done in good faith there will be no harm done. We can try and go as high as we're willing to go with our bids but everything is in their hands. We can't do anything without Liverpool agreeing.

I don't think he'll force an exit, he seems like a decent humble player. since you're a Liverpool fan, is there any news on VVD after this transfer request?

All I'll say is that he didn't need to put in transfer request to join Chelsea. Whether Southampton want to deal with us is another matter

Coutinho is a respectful person. He won't hand in a transfer request. He would however not be able to come here next year, would have to be PSG in that case.

If he wants Barca over PSG then it's probably now or never as I cannot see us coming back for him next year.

Paris S.G. was never interested by Coutinho according to Paris United. Just some garbage 6 months ago on him. How can he play with Neymar, Di Maria, Draxler, Pastore, Lucas ...

Agree.

Why would he join a club that will be banned from European competitions though? :nasser:

You will be surprised very soon. If you think Neymar will be your last Brazilian player then you're in for a ride which might not be the most pleasant one.

I feel like the board is going to throw the kitchen sink at Coutinho when there are alternatives that we could manage with.

The star signing and the one we should desperately be trying to get is Dembele as he would be the actual Neymar replacement.

These idiots are probably going to break the bank for Coutinho and end up having difficulty getting Dembele.

120m? Just fucking do it. I'd offer the same for Dembele. That's 240m right there. Coutinho + Dembele for Neymar. Seems good to me.
