a few years ago we had the best player in their position like alves-pique-puyol-xavi-iniesta-messi-moneymar-
and also we were making the sensational transfers ronaldinho-henry-ibrahimovic-etoo-
but now we have incomprehensible transfer strategy and some clubs can come and buy our best players

yes i know FFP criterion is a big problem but now we have money 222m€ from neymar and we should buy both coutinho and dembele imidiately

What the hell does that even mean? "ready to fight Liverpool for Coutinho"?
Liverpool does not have any legal obligation to sell Coutinho to Barca or anyone else for any amount. He's their contracted player. They could fine him half his weekly wages for the remainder of his contract for showing dissent if they want. And no wannabe godfather is going to sway FSG's mind if they truly don't want to sell.

Just some paper talk. Always funny to read this kind of stories. Barcelona said yesterday they will keep on trying to sign him. So they just write a story Barcelona will make an improved bid soon because that's what they probably will do if they say they will keep trying to sign him. But the media don't know shit.

Ex Liverpool player Bellamy has spoken with a few back room people at Liverpool and says they are NOT going to sell , as they don't have to . He said that Klopp has actually relented and given his blessing for Couthinho to leave BUT the owners have said NO !

Bellamy also said that there had been no contact from Barca in the last 10 days or so !?'

All very confusing and worrying.

Can't see it happened to be honest .

We have to sign him + Dembele
I'm not saying we will win anything if they arrive, but without them we will just be emberrased by teams like Real, Bayern, Psg, Juve etc.

Its like this. Either Barca offers Liverpool an obscene amount of money, for example in the region of £150m, such that it would be way too huge an offer for FSG to turn down; OR, they can wait for next summer and try again.

I seem to recall FSG during the Suarez saga saying how surprised they were that player contracts seem to mean nothing to the players themselves. They sounded quite upset. Perhaps they're trying to remind all the players the binding power of contracts. These are American businessmen and you can bet that they will definitely not budge an inch more than they want when they hold legal superiority. And right now, they DO hold legal superiority.

£150M is 164,7M Euros.

So, lol about that idea.

Exactly. But you're trying to buy two players who will definitely cost more than 130m each, with a supposed budget of about 200m. So you either pick one and wait for next summer to get the other, or you go for cheaper alternatives. Personally, I'd get Dembele first as his price has been named. With Coutinho, the owners are refusing to even talk about it so you could end up signing no one in the end.

Where are you getting 200 million from anyways ?

We were going for Verratti and others BEFORE the Neynar nightmare .. So we have both lots of money , plus any from sales and they say every season that we can use money from NEXT year's allowance .

Someone mentioned it on the Dembele thread. I'm not claiming it as fact. That's why I added the "supposed". In any case, if you have so much money, what's stopping you from getting both now by giving both clubs the amount they wanted? Why the need to drag it out with deadline day looming just around the corner when the selling clubs can just say, "Too late, no thanks. Come back next year"?

Looking more and more like a stalemate. We have no negotiating skips other than causing chaos by tapping up the players.
