The guy signed a new five-year contract six months ago though... Neymar almost did the same to us and we were angry, can understand why Liverpool don't want to negotiate.
His price might even get higher after the world cup... They can probably get 150/200m next summer plus another season of his services. This is what they think imo.

I don't think they care about what Coutinho wants or if he's unhappy.

I think this is more of a message of, if you sign a contract at this club you should accept the clubs decisions. They are going to make an example out of him for everyone who is at Liverpool and everyone who comes in in the future.

I guess they want to show serious intent of building the club back up as a serious contender for major titles, and not remain an eternal stepping stone club for players on their way to bigger and better pastures.

But we wanted Neymar to GTFO as soon as real rumors started. Liverpool are clinging on hope that they make coutinho stay and love them again. It will be exact opposite, he will be resentfull as hell.

Only PSG and City can offer that much, and PSG have already spent next years money on Mbappe. Once the Neymar money disappears, Barca will be back to a 100m ceiling for a single signing, and the offer for Coutinho will drop significantly, especially since he is not even a World Top 10 player.

Guys, give it a rest on Coutinho. Bartomeu and his fellow morons running this club might still have illusions about signing Coutinho, we are smarter than them, we shouldn't. After all what incentives does Liverpool have to sell him? Selling him tomorrow will make LFC and FSG a piece of laughing stock not only to their fans but to the whole world, sending out a message that LFC caved in last minute. They didn't get Lemar who was supposed to be his replacement, why would they sell Coutinho? It defies logic to sell him to us.

If there is any glimmer of hope of bringing in anybody before the Spanish deadline closes tomorrow it would be Lemar. Of course, the knuckleheads running this club do not see it that way and probably will end up empty-handed in the end. Mark my words.
