It was just as I expected tbh ... he didn't seem as committed as he was , also very ineffective - kinda trying things but nothing came off ...

Or like there wasn't 200 forwards that would fit our needs better than Paco, or 300 players better for us than Paulinho, Gomes, Denis, Arda. Reality has to grab you sometimes and slap you in the ass before you wake up lol. But yeah I agree...

He was never going to come in january. Why would they suddenly agree on a transfer? Liverpool fans are very happy he's back, so if they sell him after a couple of months they said they wouldn't and in the middle of the season then Liverpool fans would be mad again at the owners. If he comes, it will be in the summer.

I half expected him to refuse to play in the CL or at least say his mind wasn't ready - he's cup tied now which kinda makes the jan window unlikely for him ...

It was never likely, wouldn't have made any sense for Liverpool to fight tooth and nail during the summer to keep him, even if enourmous money was offered for him, only to let him go a few months later.
