Getting Neymar doesn't mean they would win UCL. He wanted to leave so he could win trophies in tougher league and UCL.
Exactly, but was it not that Verratti wants more established and exciting signings to make a chance? And I read no Verratti wants to leave rumours anymore, it was al about more money.

that does not make any sense when we bid 72m for Coutinho without selling neymar how is that we can't afford to spend lots of money on buying players

can bid 80m for Verratti but need to sell Neymar to bid for Coutinho?

Making a bid does not necessarily mean keeping a truckload of money on their table and asking them to give us their player. It just means that we have presented a plan to make a payment of whatever fee that we intend to pay!

And I presume, when a bid is from an established club like ours, the selling club would want us to pay in chunk - no installments or any such bull shit.

That 80 million rumor was before we signed Deulofeu and Sammedo iirc.

After having spent 40m from the supposed budget of 60m, I am not too sure if the board can sign a star player like Verratti or Coutinho without having sold our own players, or the sale is already agreed. And none of our fringe players would fetch us such a huge amount like a James or Morata had fetched to Real!

Only one left is: Neymar!

Yeah but iirc when Di Campli was still around his main criticism on Verrattis behalf was that PSG are too shit to sign proper players for a shot to CL glory. Now exactly this seems to change now.

Neymar can't carry the team on his own and not mature enough to do so as his antics on and off pitch did hurt Barcelona and Brazil. Make no mistake he is no leader and has a long way before claiming one. Also from Messi and Suarez partnership to Di Maria and Cavani is a steep downgrade, it will take PSG a while to win UCL with a proper coach.

he would have Verrati alongside him and by the looks of it maybe even Sanchez. And then there's of course also Dani Alves, Thiago Silva and Edinson Cavani.

T.Silva and Alves? those players are almost done and nowhere near their past levels tbf.
They don't have their best midfield set or defense, both lines are filled with overrated players. Verratti and Rabiot can be world class but they are yet to be able to dominate teams in CL with their midfield. They have scored five against us and still knocked out. I am not sure that adding forwards is what they need.

He leads Brazil as arguably the best player in intl football.

Can lead a top team no problem.

Which team in football has a better group of players under 25 if Neymar goes to PSG?

JamDav, that's the same argument you tore apart when I used it for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will still be better for the next 2-3 years. Within 3 years, who knows what will happen?

Never tore it apart I said there was not as big a difference as was often made out.

Mainly based on Neymar being the best 25 and under player in either team by far.

I argued againt the idea that Real were all set to maintain their level and replace key players from younger ones.
