Avoided the forum for months despite Barca having best start of the season in years, playing great football, Casado having a blast, but no Frankie. Still didn't show his face after few first bad cameos of Frankie. As soon as Frankie has couple of good appearances, sticks his face in every single thread to shill-spam for Franks ad nauseum as if life depended on it. Stunning. Keep at it.

At 23 Iniesta started to play more regularly and a key player of 2006 UCL win. However he played in various roles/positions. Pedri has more trust in midfield and plays as a main midfielder right now.
I think Pedri now has greater passing ability than Iniesta at 22. Pedri can play pretty much any kind of pass with high precision.
Iniesta was better dribbler/ball carrier.
So as a CM, Pedri now is better. As an attacking midfielder, Iniesta at 22 was better imo.
22 years old Iniesta would excel in AM role in current Barca.
I also think it is difficult to compare them. Iniesta was the best dribbler in midfield position i know ( maybe zidane was as good as him or better but different style of dribbling).
Pedri plays a different role, a little further back on the field and without these runs but he has a better passing. I think we should compare him to xavi and not iniesta but xavi also had a very good freekick technique.
I am also someone who thinks that it is essential to bring barca atleast one Champions League to compare somebody with our legends.

Exceptional players make very difficult things look easy on the pitch. I think that's why you might have never been amazed by Pedri. Iniesta made things look too easy when in reality they're not. Now when Pedri does things of similar sort they seem too casual to Barca fans.
Pedri is yet to reach the level of Iniesta but obviously there's no shame in that. Meanwhile it can be argued he has overtaken the level Iniesta was at the same age, but there's no point in that. It can also be argued Lamine has overtaken the level of Messi at the same age. But what does that even mean? It's different eras, different circumstances, different teams.

No one was more casual than Iniesta and he never went into hiding/retreats the way panda does. In nature pandas like to hide in the forest too.
