The UEFA Technical Observer Panel said: "He was chosen for his total dominance in midfield and his incredible activity in both attack and defence."

"His performance, alongside the excellent De Jong, was a key factor in Barca's controlled victory and the quality of his play."

You only posted this because De Jong is mentioned, didn't you? :mou:

Well, that performance probably secured their long-term pairing for good, people will not like to admit it but the team got better when FDJ came back in. Him and Pedri work well, especially now Pedri reached elite fitness somehow.

So lucky to have him. Makes everybody around him better.
As said by many others here, he is the type of player that takes you back to the old days.

Pure class.

On top of that, an excellent new layer of fitness and athleticism (this guy used to be injured every 2 months, we were missing out on this...) Nowadays he can start week in week out with 12km+.

We are sooooo back

Team isn't better now that it was at the start of the season were we beat Bayern and Madrid twice.

We just went through an historical bad run for a month or two, now we are back to that form, maybe even slightly behind our early season form.

De jong fan boys, just like to have very short memories.

Not that he hasn't been getting better.

The one good thing barto did.

Imagine ever doubting this guy when fit was ever our best, most talented, most important Midfielder.

Before yamal, i use to player period instead of Midfielder.

Pep will come calling soon, tell him 300m.
They won't pay it, but it will give PSG ideas to pay 350m.

Stadium paid for....

Joao Neves-Pedri-Vitinha wouldn't be fair.

Lucho has a thing for Gavi though. Maybe we can bait and switch mid signing.

It's funny, because i genuinely had that thought re gavi yesterday lol.

That Midfield shouldn't ever been allowed fo play together, the modern day holy Trinity and its not at Barcelona.

The most La Masia-esque player that never went to La Masia?

He's great, all he needed was health and the right position.

Yeah, he was born with a Barca DNA while most other players need to learn our way of playing.

Now that we're talking about his. It was probably mentioned before but I think it's interesting that UEFA considers Pedri as a homegrown player but OTOH for example Eric who spend 9 years in La Masia is not counted as HG because he was at City for a few years.

Agree, kinda weird that only years 15-21 count (three consecutive years). So Eric who joined us at 7 and left at 16 is not homegrown for Barca according to UEFA rules but he is for City since he was there from 16-20. Same principle applies for Pedri who joined us at 17.
