Ruiz 95% and 1 assist

We've been sleeping on this Midfield for a while.

I'm not scared but That Midfield is the business, and the brutality of the pace.

One of the Villa players said it was like non stop waves.
We need Olmo back to match/get the upper hand in a 3 on 3 midfield battle.

None of the other 5 have Olmo's X-factor in terms of vertical playmaking/shots.

Even through he plays deeper, olmo gives us balance for Ruiz.

Today he had 56/59 passes 95%. Like olmo for us he doesn't pass as much as the other two, but gives them more verticality.

Plus as the "10" also will be closer to him, to mark him defensively and give him something to worry about when we have the ball.

Pass Completion tonight:

Vitinha 148/152 (97%)
Neves 90/92 (98%)

Pedri and FDJ will have their work cut out for them.

It's criminal how Bumnaldo is ruining Portugal's chances for trophies. @Birdy
Pedri 56/62 (90%)
FDJ 68/70 (97%)

So if Barca vs Qsg in the final then it's going to be tough for the midfield. Not because Pedri and FDJ are inferior individually but Qsg team now are focusing on dominate possesion (thanks to Lucho and Barca for that).

The extreme pace of their front line means a lot of teams dont even try to take them on in midfield and let them have ball often at expense of trying to double up on their wingers.

Xavi did the same for large spells last season.

Flick wont. He will allow the midfield to go at them head on and to the winner the spoils.

I think we can dominate them in midfield. Our midfielders are technically superior I feel. PSG players are faster, but ours I think have better ball control and it should show during the match.

I also think the backline plays a part.

Let's not forget that Yamal is partly a no10, heavily involved in build-up.

Meanwhile LE signs for us Andre Gomes and Arda fookin' Turan.

Campos is the star of that side. Cutting LE buys such as Asensio, Carles Solar and getting him to stay in his lane.

Barca, PSG and Arsenal all have great midfields (so do Inter and a fully fit Bayern, to be fair). Which is a large part of why they dismantled and generally dominated the teams they played against this midweek, in these big games.

As others imply, what I am really looking forward to is seeing how these teams match each other up in the middle of the park. Forwards are very very important in winning the games, but people overlook other areas of the team - these games are often won in the midfield (and also defence). The midfield gives the platform for the forwards to get chances.

Arsenal, Inter, PSG, Barca would really be a great final four.

You have the the leaders of 3/4 the top leagues who are arguably the best three sides in Europe this year.

...And Arsenal.
Yeah I agree

To be fair to Arsenal they are good on their day. Just can't be consistent enough.

But yeah it feels like the other three would beat them.
