Suarez is ultra-elite. One of the best strikers I have ever seen.

I don't rate any striker in the world anywhere near him.

If there is one thing our board deserves massive credit on, it's signing Suarez.

Well, thank god Man City didn't want to sell us Aguero who was Zubi's primary target as the man himself admitted.

Your opinion and that's fair enough. One thing we all agree on is that Suarez is head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to strikers.

He's up there with Ronaldo (the real one), Van Nistelrooy and the likes - simply amazing lately.

When we were first reported to being linked to Suarez I kind of just laughed at the Catalan press and said whatever but then he bit Chiellini and next thing I know his transfer was announced.

Not when you consider we could have bought him in 2010, but went for Sanchez instead.

Many big teams were hesitant about signing strikers from the Dutch league after so many had recently failed after moving.

Liverpool took the chance and Suarez was the real deal after tearing it up in Holland. It's easy to look back in hindsight; maybe Ronaldo would have become the greatest striker in history if he never moved and got injured. Instead we unfortunately have less than 3 seasons when he was young and unstoppable. Boy was he one of a kind though.

IIRC Pep didn't want him then because his brother was (and I think he still is) Suarez's agent. I remember reading something about that in Catalan media at that time. And we had Messi playing as false 9 scoring 70+ goals per season so even if we'd buy Suarez Pep would turn him into another Henry or Villa by playing him on the wings where he'd probably still be good but not as great as he's now in his role.

And as mentioned in previous post you never really know what you get out of top scorers from Eredivisie. They could become WC players like Ibra and Suarez, solid players for smaller clubs but not good enough for big ones (KJH and Bony) or total busts like Afonso Alves when they come to better league. Liverpool just took their risk with Suarez and they were awarded. And now we are the lucky ones to have him.
