FFS Suarez is still in preseason mode considering how long he was out. There's no insecurity issue. He'll get better, he just needs time and his first goal.

There is 0 difference in his situation when he first joined Liverpool and he wasnt playing like this.

0 difference? He was out for FOUR months. That's a long time. At Liverpool he came in the winter transfer window. Even then he was quite unlucky for the next two seasons, scoring only 15 goals for Liverpool in the remainder of 10/11 and 11/12.

I always feel Messi's level intimidates other attackers, they become insecure about their own level and start to look for Messi to finish. Ever since Eto'o and Henry it started happening, Pedro, Affelay, Alexis, Tello, Cuenca, Villa(started well but after the injury changed into that type of player as well), Neymar last season and now Suarez.

Quality players who look uncomfortable and insecure about their own abilities compared to Messi. Its in the national team like this as well, I have seen Higuain shoot on target all the time at Real to become a player who passes to Messi while being in a better position, same goes for Lavezzi.
Only 2 players who didnt beside Villa in his first season are Aguero and current season's Neymar.

Luis Suarez is a terrific player but he made some bad call's the last 2 games, passing when he should shoot, like with the pass to Messi instead of a lob yesterday.
Suarez needs the confidence to do whatever he wants when he sees fit (like Neymar is currently doing). I hope it will come within the next few games when the rust wears of.
In Ajax and Liverpool despite being new to the club he started like that from the start, hope he isnt conforming to a supporting role cause he is at his dream club and surrounded by payers who are at his level or better for the first time in his career (outside of Forlan of course).

While I agree that this can happen I don't believe it will be a problem with Suarez once he gets settled in. I think he has the personality to overcome these early nerves etc.
BTW I don't think Tello was that sort of player. He seemed to be pretty confident.

On the bench. This was a good game for him to break his spell. IDK what Lucho's doing. We might even win the match, but why the heck bench a player that needs playing time, before the int. break? :shakeshead:

Fantastic assist. But I want him to score goals, he was brought in to score goals. I hope he tears it up second half of the season.

Great game, looks like someone told him not to look for Messi all the time, better he learns it now than after 2 seasons like Alexis

Saved by Suarez today.

Team is 3 forwards and 8 other players.

Forwards create and decide the games by themselves.

This is not sustainable.

Fucking beast. With the way we were playing/organized and the way Almeria parked the bus, it really looked impossible for us to find the space and rhythm to score. Those chances were difficult to imagine and create yet his relentless effort did it. This is an example of how Suarez is an X factor that we've lacked. His actions alone made the difference between being 6th place in the table and Lucho still being employed.
