9 - Robert Lewandowski

Let me tell you something. I am not sure if you guys already noticed but, what I clearly seen in the last games, he does not get passes from almost anybody. Team mates realized for sure that he is incapable of creating or controlling the ball properly so, he is boycotted by them. Next game, please look closely. Lamine, Raphinia, Olmo, Balde, etc prefer to pass to anybody but him. Sometimes he gets a pass.
So, because he is included in the team against ( I hope I am right) their will, they decided to ignore him in play. They probably want to show to Flick they do not want him anymore, despite Flick is keeping him on the pitch. They are Hoping in this way, Flock will realize that Lewanflopski cannot be integrated anymore within team and, even if he may not like it, he will be forced to change his vision about this reality and do something to his favorite German speaking mate.
I am guessing they are hoping Flick to minimize his playing time at max and try other options.

Such a great idea, and even better lesson for a kid, to cave into his whims. You can decide the squad bros, just don't pass to someone, let's have a fresh set of amigos even before their 1st CL. Truly your solutions are just as thought through as your critiques.

Actually, if that is the case, then it's them who should be benched or otherwise punished, regardless of performance. Not to mention, if that is the case, and from what I understand about Flick, it's only keeping Lewandowski more on the pitch. So yeah.

We'll still win with him on the pitch so Flick will rationalize him as a lucky charm to keep fielding him.

Good practice for when we get red carded, although rags will still be on so playing with nine men then.

With any other coach, if your team gets a red card, one of the first option is to take out a forward, most of the time the striker. Flick is the exception, cannot take out his long term favorite. Until the most important players will react against him and he may loose the locker room.

Torres came in for him, he had a few touches of the ball for 25 minutes. Isak came in, it would be the same. Barcelona have been playing on the wings recently, hence very few passes to the center, the number of shots taken by Lamin or Raphinia is greater than by Lewandowski, but this is mainly due to the style of play. If someone is talking crap that when Lewandowski is there, Barcelona always plays 10 vs 11, it means that Barcelona is a phenomenon - they haven't lost the last dozen or so matches, always playing 10 vs 11. So if Lewandowski is no longer in the team and Barcelona gets a red card, don't get upset, after all, according to you, it will still be the same as with Lewandowski in the lineup.

I gave up hope during the Christmas break, age caught up to him and he almost only scores if somebody bounces the ball off of him...
I hope Flick is starting to realize that if he's THIS bad now, how the fucking hell will he look next season while eating up FFP for like 3 players we could have in his place? Nah, I hope Deco and Fatporta working on something - he can't be here next season, it a fucking joke.
The problem is the Backup is worse than him. LOL. You start with Lewa, hope he doesn't fuck up till 60min, and then bring in Tuna, and hope again this 30min is small enough time for him to maintain focus.
Even during his purple patch this season, it was evident that we need a replacement of him next summer, that is why I was asking for Gyokeres and use both next season. But I was told because of our finances it can't happen.
So, which way Barca management and Cules:-
Red Pill - Buy a top striker, take the financial hit, and use both till the new one takes over as a starter. Atleast you have a chance at Trophies, so you can recuperate some money from sales and trophy payments.
Blue Pill - We have no money, and Lewa has scored 34 goals. He will do the same next year aswell. He's 37 and Age is just a number, just look at all the trophies and records he has from before. Sunshine and rainbows bruv.

We can just hope he regains his purple patch for the next two months. If he does, we are going to win everything.

No point in talking about prime Lewa.. sorry to say but he is done guys. In a game like this, where the support is there, the team is clicking, home game and he has zero good actions. His impact has been negative. sorry to say, i really wanted him to come good.
I watched the game, he had almost zero passed balls to him. How is he supposed to create something when there is no ball? The 2-3 times he receives a pass, its a shit pass from which only prime Messi would have done something.

I blame him for that shit shot in the box which keeper saved, but these happen to everyone. There was barely anything else he was involved in. Players use him as a decoy, when he is running towards the defense line of opponents, the ball carriers keep on running and using him as a decoy, he hasn't received a single pass in a scenario like this. How else is he supposed to get involved? He was instructed to stay up the pitch and not go back to play meaningless 1-2s.

Striker who is instructed to only finish tap ins and not be involved in play and teammates are instructed to only make final passes in the box to him. Tell us how is he going to do anything here in a game where he has 1 chance per 90 minute?

All goals were scored without his involvement as per coach tactics he stayed in the middle covered by defense and unable to be passed to...

I never hear such bullshit in real life discussions like here on this forum. Everyone I talked to, including people from other countries think Lewy is good for his age and he does his job.

EDIT: Kimmich would be Perfect for this team, noone can do long passes atm. Pedri would be amazing partner with him, they would compliment each other. I dont mean it as asset to Lewa. There are several cases each match where Raphinha or Yamal are furious because they dont receive a through ball or long pass.

Sheer lies. He fucked up a very crucial pass which you have wholly omitted from your assessment. Missing that pass in a bigger game is the difference between progression and elimination. Acting like he shouldn't play a part in build-up is ridiculous. You know what you are doing. Stop being so biased.

Saying whenever he receives the ball it is a terrible pass to him that only prime Messi can control or make something of? Lol, this is just sheer desperation. Made up, fantasist fanboy cult level bollocks. You rival Cristiano Ronaldo lovers for delusion and sheer spin doctoring lol.

And the reason people think Lewy is still good now is two-fold - his stats and the fact they never watch him, and also the fact he's a player who's very popular with the public. They will never criticise him as he is protected from criticism. Cristiano Ronaldo gets way more hate and criticism than Lewy despite being a far better player. Messi too. Lewy is just extremely well-liked and people don't like to mention his flaws, that's all. He's very popular as a person. More popular than better players than him. Even Temptation, who loves him, admitted he hadn't noticed Lewy's staggering level of arse-licking by others until I pointed it out.

Also, it would be good to see you and some of the other AI Lewy loving drones talk about some other football topics on here. Or does your interest in football begin and end with Robert Lewandowski?

But why don't you write how many terrible passes Raphinia had in recent matches, how many Yamal? Everyone has such weaker passes, and since Lewandowski had one and that one wasn't "finished" it is of course visible and immediately criticized. Do you know what probability is? That once in a while you get something. It's the same with simple passes, once in a while even Messi makes a shitty pass.

Because it is a theme with Lewy.

Is this how ridiculous the arguments are getting in this thread? Implications that Raphinha and Yamal are not better passers than him, or more creative, because they fuck up some passes too?

Equating Lewy's passing with Messi's because 'once in a while even Messi makes a poor pass' LOL. As if last night is an outlier and Lewy is normally an amazing passer. This is such bad debating.

This thread is full of cult-like worshippers. You say there are a lot of people who are against him, but at least that's closer to reality than absolute deluded pie-in-the-sky bollocks like this. Absolutely pulled out of someone's arse:

'The 2-3 times he receives a pass, its a shit pass from which only prime Messi would have done something.'

Just accept he is finished. It is obvious to anyone with a brain. You guys must be smarter than you're showcasing, but just simply blinded by bias.

Yes but Raphinha and Yamal also do good things.

I mean seriously, defending Lewy's generally horrendously poor passing ability by saying 'even prime Messi makes the odd poor pass'.

Like saying 'Jordan Henderson makes a lot of poor passes but even Maradona made the odd poor pass, get off his case'.

Just sheer disingenuous, ultra bias towards Lewy.
What you mean to write is 'even prime Messi makes the odd poor pass. Even finished Lewy makes the odd good pass'. It's a theme for one, and an outlier for the other.

Easy to hate on the old guy but remember 34 goals in March isn't nothing.

It's true his game is inadequate outside of poaching currently but he's performing way above expectations given his age and how much mileage he has.

If we win the league title a good part will be his work again. Should expect him to score more now in knockouts as teams fear Raphinha and Yamal and will start to focus assignments on them.

90 minutes every 10 days is exaggerating it. I would say 110 minutes every 2 games is more about it. Players like to keep that rhythm no matter how old they are.

He will need to skip that international break too, if is smart enough, especially considering the opponents (Lithuania then Malta).

I don't see us signing a direct replacement for him this summer, although I can see us getting a winger and moving Raphinha in the middle like Dembele with PSG

No matter how it is done, it is clear he cannot play the amount of minutes he currently does.

Last night he looked like he was 45.
