9 - Robert Lewandowski

IMHO I don’t think he needs to do this. they got him for free, got hundreds of goals from him and 50M at the end and fans shitted on him when he wanted to leave in search for more challanges.

Robert Lewandowski will not be allowed to leave despite contract rejection — Kahn

Do you think that Barca board would say something like this if Messi said that he wanted to leave?
or this one

“We know this alarmism from the past. It’s not something that causes us a headache. We made an offer to his agent. He rejected this offer. That’s his right. The fact is: He has a contract and he will fulfill it.

Guys, just watch the highlights. He celebrated all other goals as any other player and after the match with the fans. He just didn't want to come off ungrateful when the focus was on him. Stop making a story where there is none.

Lewandowski leaving Bayern?
I don’t know if the fans were ungrateful but maybe they should be pissed...Sure Lewa lacked the basic PR skills for that thing. His bitching and moaning publicly at the NT press conference was pathetic and embarrassing. I felt 😳 for him...Bayern is too serious a business to do Dembele there. Instead of leaving them with the monument of impeccable memories (speaking rethoricly) he left a stench of ungratefulness. Uli Hennes and Rummenige were good bosses and he owed them more respect than that.

First and foremost, it is a contract you signed, cupcake. Read it before you sign it, then fulfill it like a man instead of playing a victim or crying like a spoiled baby.

The way he left Bayern hurt my feelings badly as his fan.

But such things are forgivable...only hurt whenever you dwell on them. They are easily surpassed by such shows as we saw on Wednesday or tomorrow...in Madrid.
I hope Robert gets to score a decider, a nice header or shot from a distance. A win tomorrow will lay the foundation for the treble. Think big!

You forget one thing, a few years earlier Lewandowski made a promise to Bayern that he would join them on a free transfer. He also got an offer from Real Madrid at that time, but because he was honest, professional and honorable, he didn't break his promise to Bayern. That's why when he left he had a bit of a grudge against the Bayern management, because they forgot that he was fair before coming to them...

This is Karl-Heinze Rummenigge's recent quote before the Barca Bayern game. Clearly he likes RL9 way more than other low IQ Footballers.

"Some transfers have been pivotal for the progress of the club. The acquisition of Robert Lewandowski was certainly one of those. He is utterly prolific in front of goal and genuinely a fantastic person. I have never encountered a player as sincere and honest as him."

"I could engage with him on any subject. He always provided me with candid responses, never offering up anything that felt rehearsed or self-serving. It’s important to note, particularly considering my role was to uphold the club's interests rather than solely his."

"In every way, Robert served as a vital ally to me. Conversations about football with him are always stimulating, given his high understanding of the game. Plus, he's an incredibly well-rounded individual—exceptionally brilliant."

Maybe he said too much to the public but in my opinion he was forced to do so, bayern also lacked PR skills in this case, look at the comments of kahn or salihamidzic that days. these were not comments to calm down the situation and talk. do you think that Lewandowski first thing was to go to the public and not the board?
Compare these messages

He has a contract and he will fulfill it” - btw this aged poorly 😉
and
He should be grateful for what he has in our club,"”

vs

He's still got a contract and he is still a Barcelona player. There are some older players in the team and we need to make some decisions but in Messi's case, I hope that he stays with us."
(…)
We only have enormous respect for Leo Messi. “(…)
"We are putting every effort into ensuring that the relationship between Barca and Messi will continue. We are working internally to convince Leo."

for me the difference is clear

I’m also very sad about how he left Bayern. he deserved better farewell but it’s just my opinion
