Won't show up on the stat sheet or highlight reels but can see the importance of his presence in setting up Lamal's goal. Bullies Rudiger and gets the flick onto Raphina to turn an aimless kick from Pena into a great counter chance.

So subtle yet so excellent.

I must say Raphinha's touch inside absolutely kills them too. Other players might go down the line there. He brings it inside and from there Real are fucked.

Was a good long pass by Pena, but true about Lewa's role.

I was spot on about this in hindsight. The real reason is he was being ignored under Xavi. He was constantly getting into great positions and creating space but the final ball was never arriving. The ball kept getting recycled even when Lewy created an opening with his movement and positioning.

This resulted in him being extremely frustrated and then the constant whining, pointing and lethargy followed.

This is Lewandowski's fundamental personality. You have to keep him happy by playing according to his movements and instincts. He's very demanding and greedy on the pitch. Big players have big egos and you have to live with that if you want to get the best out of them and the entire unit. He's a bit of a narcissist and that has helped him throughout his career.

I think he messed up his personal training plan too with the mid-season world cup and never recovered. Partly also because the first team club training was also not up to scratch.

Lewy was the main critic of the low level of training intensity last season.

These people being hung up on Lewandowski's missed chances after he banged the first 2 and set the course of the match, get on my nerve a little.... you know...or I take it back, they piss me off big time. 👿🤬😤😤😤😤

You think Lewandowski. You think Maestro...that's right!
You think Michelangelo.
Yeah....You gotta give him a block of expensive marble, so he can make a piece of art and in the process, he'll waste some of the marble...It is called scrap.
That's a given and to be expected.
Better find a nice pedestal to put the sculpture on and admire, instead of analyzing the scrap which, as in the case of Real Madrid match, was affordable.

If he gets to a 50 goal season at the age of 36/37 in a top league…

17 in 14 so far

If we keep the current level, the Ballon podium next year will be RLY
The issue is the club won't help him in the PR campaign for the award. They'll try to push Yamal instead. They'll do what Madrid did to Bellingham this time.

He'll have to arrange his own PR and orchestrate a big media campaign for himself.
