9 - Robert Lewandowski

Tempt isnt wrong, some guys ( i think everyone knows which group i mean) here are constantly bashing Lewa, making 0-1 post when lewa scores a brace but 10 negative posts when he doesnt score.

Also we need to adjust our expectations to his age, he is 36 years old, a grandpa in football and as long as he scores everything is good. If he plays bad and doesnt score regularly like in first half of last season then yes he deserves criticism like every other player in the world. But atm we need to enjoy this dude.

The fact is that Ronaldo doesn't do much running in the last 4-7 years. Not a speed demon either but calling him a tractor would be a crazy thing to say.

Selling Lewandowski as a tractor is way more honest than selling him as Rolls Royce, Messi, Ronaldo or Ronaldinho.
That's a state of the art tractor, well versed to plough trough fields. Getting the job done, finely.

It is not to say, dear Barca fans, that you were scammed. 45 million buys you a tractor exactly. 200 million buys you Abrams tank, which at the time was not for sale, and the wallet wasn't too thick either.

Basically you buy a striker/forward who main task is to score goals. One 45 million player score twice as much as 200 million player but the first one is tractor and second one RR or Abrams.

TBH Messi and Ronaldo are on different level but if you look at Haaland or Mbape... well... both these players should be ahead of Robert by far but somehow they aren't.

We are comparing him to Eto and Suarez, not those bums.
Unfortunately he will never be at that level, at his prime or not.

That's just facts

Nonsense, a striker is judged by goals. But does he play effectively, are his goals effective? And why? I want a striker who is not effective but effective. When you go to a doctor, do you prefer one who has knowledge but cannot cure you or one who does not boast about his knowledge but cures you effectively? If Lewandowski scores more goals than technically good strikers, it means he is a better (read - more effective) striker. That's all there is to it.

Lewandowski's hold up play is levels above Eto'o and Suarez. More consistent all round player too.

There's a reason why Suarez and Eto'o turned into bums when they lost their mobility. Where was their "talent" and "technical skills" once they lost their burst of speed?

RL9 lost his mobility few years back and is still the topscorer in LL and CL lmao.

Lionel Messi lost his pace and acceleration way back and still was at the top level for around 5 more years.

The elite players know how to cope with age and loss of mobility because they have the tools, attributes and completeness to cope with it.

The biggest reason Lewandowski coped so well with ageing is because he's a complete forward and not a one dimensional system player.
