9 - Robert Lewandowski

Definitely losing the pichichi to Mbappe if he continues like this. Shame considering he started very well and it looked like he's certainly winning it. 2 league goals in 8 Liga games, come on Lewy...

In La Liga since November.

Raphinha has 5 goals in 9 games.
Lamine has 3 assists in 6 games.

Neither of them are the second highest paid player in Spain. Neither of them are the primary goalscorer of the team. One of them is also 17 years old so some inconsistency is expected.

No excuse for Lewandowski. He's been terrible. As he has every season at Barcelona after starting off red hot and then falling off considerably in the middle of the season and becoming a liability.

2 goals and 0 assists in his last 8 La Liga games since November.

His form have dropped from November/December in every year he's been here so far.

It's also coincided with our shit form in the league. Just not good enough.

Old bones need warmth.

For the people who say we would be worse without him, just a reminder that the last league game we actually won was without him on the field, Raph, Baby Shark and Pau Victor were feasting AND we created like 9 chances, it was one of our best games creatively wise

Same shit against Betis in the Copa, it's so obvious that Lewa is the one limiting the team's attack. At best he can make a few tap-ins and a few good passes like against Madrid, but most of the time he's a net negative on the ball, getting bullied by the opposition CBs, when he has a dry spell like right now he directly contributes NOTHING to the team.

Getafe sees a ragdoll leading our line who they cuck around all match. This is worse than Rashford not giving a fuck at United since he can still remotivate elsewhere not being a physical problem. We need to sell rags this summer and take whatever losses it incurs.

I still think Joao Pedro would be good option.

Eto'o all the way. Suarez also. Ronaldo too. Romario was class when I think of it.
All far more enjoyable #9s for Barca.

Never a fan of players who just score. That might be someone else's cup of tea. Mainly non-Barca fans I imagine. Who themselves probably lack imagination.
Yeah this dull obsession with 'goaL StATs' modern fans have is a sure sign of not understanding the game or never playing it. Any idiot can count up stats on the internet - actually analysing and dissecting a game takes insight.

I have never been a fan of these robotic, boring scorers or stats merchants like C Ronaldo, Lewa, Bellingham, Haaland, Rashford, Bruno Fernandes. One thing you'll notice about all these guys is they're inferior to lots of their fellow players technically but they play in moments so can pop up with a goal or an assist. This is very conducive to spinning things in their favour in the Americanised, internet, stats, highlight package zero attention span world we are living in.

The guys who created football back in the mid-1800s would be spinning in their graves seeing this reliance on deeply superficial stats. Like you imply these kids who obsess over goal stats are probably the most clueless tactically and couldn't analyse a game to save their lives. But they think they are geniuses because they can parrot stats and 'records' lol. They look so pleased with themselves like they have got one over on someone when they quote a stat. Deluded cunts.

As a film and TV watcher, imagine if I picked out segments of films and claimed it made them the best film ever. Or distilled a 100 episode show into 10 good episodes and 90 poor ones and claimed it was a greatest ever type show because of those 10 good episodes. This is what fans do with picking out one moment in games.

It will never fail to amaze me how fans think someone automatically plays well because of one moment/goal in an entire 90 minutes. Like you say, utterly dull and lacking in imagination.

Well, I suppose this old man only has the gas tank for a few months.

Been the same for the 3 seasons he's played here, what a shame.

A backup striker in light of that should have been considered very important. Regardless, I think rotating in Pau Victor or Ferran just to give the team a different dynamic and fresher legs would help our results and allow Lewa to rest a bit.

Let's be fair. He is 36 and hardly any player at that age is able to play 90 minutes every game for a top club, whilst maintaining their level.

For his age and what he is, he's done very well here. But we need to work within his constraints, bench him from time to time.

Yeah, I've said that before. He just cannot play back to back games and even playing every other game might be too much. But it's only going to get worse due to his age.

It's a pity Olmo is made out of glass and that there might not be any reinforcements this month.

If Olmo was more available they could play him as a False 9 more, or if we got someone on loan for 6 months like Rashford maybe they could try him there instead.

Whatever it is, Flick need to find an alternative to Lewandowski because he simply cannot continue like this.

Well, we had a young striker who could be giving him a rest but decided to offload him before giving him a chance.
