Lewandowski on not winning the Ballon d'Or: "I've been thinking about these two awards lately: FIFA The Best & the Ballon d'Or. I've come to the conclusion that the FIFA award does matter more. Only journalists vote in the latter - there's no clear verification"

Lewandowski: "Professionals and journalists vote for for the FIFA award; Team captains, coaches - they can realistically and objectively evaluate our performances, because they know how much each match, each record, each injury costs us."

Lewandowski: "Maybe in the prestige ranking, the Ballon d'Or is positioned higher than the FIFA Award, but the recognition I received winning The Best for the second time in a row in the voting of coaches and players makes me proud because I know how hard I worked for many years"

Lewandowski: "However, I must emphasize that I keep my distance from the awards. It's not that I can't sleep after an award I didn't win, wondering why I failed - especially since I realize that football politics also plays a role at times."

Sounds pathetic coming from a double winner of.. what is it called again? Yeah, not ballon d'or so it doesn't really matter.

Nope he's still begging today

Forget it. He would be stupid to do. He just told in the same interview (when it was about CR7s stats) how important systems and team members are for scoring excellently as a striker. It would take years for him (atleast more time than he will get in this year's summer preparation) to get as familiar with new teammates as he is right now. And the very good players usually aren't als selfless as Benzema, Suarez or M?ller were for years...
