Laporta is out of his mind if this is true, which I still don't believe. From both sporting and financial perspectives this transfer makes no sense.
If you watch Bayern regularly you can tell he is slowing down, especially in the second half of this season, not just in terms of scoring but his general game play is not as great as before. Not as mobile as before. His inter-play with his teammates, something Lewandowski did really well before has been far and few between, he is more and more relying on service and that's natural, the guy is getting older and can't run as much as he did before.
Giving a soon-to-be 34-year-old who in my opinion has another year or two at the top level left a 3-year contract is crazy. I don't know what wages we are offering him, he is already making 24m gross at Bayern and reportedly wants more (around 28m to 30m), even if he were to take a paycut to come here it would still be around 20m I guess. How the hell can we accommodate that kind of wages?
Bayern should just tell us to take a hike and demand a huge fee like 80m or something, that's will be our saving grace. Come on Bayern, come through for us.
