Old tractor vs new porsche

And here we go again, that RL sucks...

Radioestato calculations:

Robert Lewandowski

Minutes: 1,704
Goals: 19 (1 goal every 90 minutes)
Assists: 2
Shots: 56 (1 goal every 2.95 shots)
Shots on target: 34 (1 goal every 1.78 shots on target)

Kylian Mbappé

Minutes: 1,821
Goals: 16 (1 goal every 114 minutes)
Assists: 2
Shots: 69 (1 goal every 4.31 shots)
Shots on target: 50 (1 goal every 3.12 shots on goal)
Does Mbappe run at all now? Or he still walks even though hes young ?

Goal was important. If he keeps on scoring those, it's fine. Also if Flick keeps rationing his minutes.

Lewandowski is still in the 55-65% range of elite strikers based on big chances scored and big chances missed.

He is still getting into position and is dangerous as ever.

I guess we will find out as the rest of the season unfolds what Lewy is still capable of.

I'm just not delusional and don't expect Neymar spaghetti from him.
All I expect is GOALS.

Pretty goals. Ugly goals. Don't care.

Doing more than enough this season. More than enough.

Very impressive season and making the transfer look well worth it despite high wages.

As Porque says, this attack needs as a matter of urgency to secure a top 9 to replace him.

Fuck, I actually like him under Flick. And he is not nearly as immobile as is being made out here.

When Flick gets a top 9, we will be incredible.

Here hoping Deco does he due diligence and doesn't run to Mendes now we have a little manoeuvability in the market.
We can't really afford to gamble in this position. We need to get a guaranteed top replacement or at least multiple good options to minimise the risk of failure.

The striker in this team will get a shit ton of chances especially if they are fast. Lewandowski is performing admirably but I worry we won't find someone of the same level when he leaves, especially if we try to gamble on a young player.

You are saying that if suddenly Lewa is leaving for whatever reason, Barca will collapse!!!! I think that previously games played without him just contradict you.
I bet you that any younger striker, including Pau Victor which was transferred and not given minutes almost at all, if that striker get all the minutes Lewa is getting, he would do a much better job overall. I can not prove that until it will happen.

That goal is why Lewa will not be dropped this season, however much folk call for it. We just don't have anyone else to sniff out a goal like that. It's not Olmo's, Ferran's or Pau Victor's game.

I just hope we continue to see Lewa getting subbed off earlier and earlier when he is not having an impact. Especially now there are so many options there with Ferran and Olmo being used as a False 9.

I've written about this before, there are different types of goals scored, beautiful, spectacular, incredible, but there are also ugly goals, but at the same time extremely difficult and important for the team. Lewandowski has scored a lot of such difficult and ugly goals in his career. I think that in terms of such difficult - acrobatic - goals, only Zlatan Ibrahimovic and maybe sometimes Haaland can be compared to him.

Those teenagers need a team uncle to give some mental patronage and instill confidence.
That's another thing that's overlooked.
Anyone who practiced some team sports knows what I am talking about.

It is perfect if that person is a 10 seasons or so club legend, such as Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Pique, Busqutes...those from the golden era.
Still, always good to have a seasoned veteran to bolster spirit in tough moments too.

He wont be dropped as he is still most likely to finish chances if falls to him.

It looks like Flick has been trying new ways to break teams down who sit deep also as got so stuck on those in league prior to New Year.

Balde and Kounde if wide and teams set and back are not great crossers of a ball and teams find it easier to defend those balls in from wide anyway.

If the break is not on Pedri is dropping to the left and and waiting for ball to come to him and trying lofted passes/balls into the box from an angle.. and he is superb at it. On the other side Yamal is trying it.

Raphinha is drifting out to those areas also at times to put balls in from similar areas.

Barca are scoring and going close from a ton of those Pedri/Yamal balls in recently and Lewa will like that type of service.

The issues Barca will have to deal with will be v the better sides who can defend a high line v Lewa and put pressure on Pedri/FDJ/Olmo/Casado etc in midfield as a result and gamble on that ahead of threat in behind.

Thats when the midfield will be tested fully and what likes of Raph and Yamal can do on the break.
