What I don't understand is the sum of money Eto'o is seeking from Barca. Is there something in his contract stating that he is entitled to a certain amount if he is being forced to leave whilst he still has a contract?

yeah I do think if he talked 1 on 1 to the major figures of the team, they might convince him to move without paying him anything. Probably Puyol or Xavi.
