Sakho confirms Liverpool and Milan interest

Mamadou Sakho has revealed he has received an offer to leave PSG in the summer, confirming Liverpool and AC Milan's interest in him.

Sakho, 23, made 24 Ligue 1 appearances in PSG's title-winning campaign but predominantly played second fiddle to the experienced centre-back pairing of Thiago Silva and Alex at the Parc des Princes.

The defender has been offered a new contract by les Parisiens, but has not yet agreed to the deal as speculation over his future grows.

Incumbent PSG coach Laurent Blanc could hold the key to Sakho's future, although the Frenchman revealed he has been approached by a number of clubs.

"I'll be able to talk with the new coach and see what he thinks," Sakho said. "I am flattered by the interest of historic clubs like Liverpool and AC Milan. We will see what happens in the near future.

"I have to make a decision. PSG is my club, I was born here and I learned my football here. I want to play for this club all my life, but it is clear that I do not want to sit on the bench.

"I have not played as much as I would have liked last sesaon because of the choices of the coach. Every player wants to play every week, too. There is an offer on the table."

Mario Yepes has announced his departure from AC Milan.

The 36-year-old defender is out of contract on June 30 and will not be renewing his deal with the Rossoneri.

“For now I am focused on preparing well for a good season. This is why we decided by mutual consent to leave Milan,” he explained.

“I had the opportunity to continue at Milan, but I want to play more consistently so that I can be in the best form for the World Cup next year, assuming we qualify.”

Legend, I will miss Super Mario Yepes, great signing. Still a boss CB as shown for Columbia very recently. :super2:

We have a new Super Mario now though

I bought online both the home and away jerseys. Away one looks class. Still don't like gold on the home kit, but bought it anyway.

Ed, you disappoint me :p

You disappoint me following Inter tbh ;). Should know your history that the majority Liverpool supporters hate Inter with a passion. I hate Inter with a passion - I have no qualms denying that. They cheated Shankly from creating history so fuck Inter. :p

Never got that impression, I know a few people who support Liverpool & Inter actually, one of them is from Liverpool. The only thing I don't like about supporting both is seeing some Inter fans who try to turn Heysel into a positive thing, I've lost my shit on a couple people who do that on the Inter forum.

I do think what Milan did after Hillsborough was classy though, I will say that. Actually the very first time I watched Serie A, I tried to like Milan & they were the first Italian club I attempted to follow but although I liked a few of their individual players (Maldini, Nesta, Pirlo) I just never clicked with them or any Serie A club at the time so stopped watching it for a while. Rafa going to Inter is what actually brought me back & I just stuck around even after he was sacked, so I guess you can say it's because of Liverpool that I started following Inter in the first place ;)

Well I am a Milan follower since the Saachi days when Milan dominated europe. Was a child then so understandable they would be a club that I would admire.

I mean I get the your reasons and more power to you. I just cannot stand Inter :D Sorry :D I even have more empathy for Juventus than Inter!!!
