It doesn't matter... Serie A to even be compared with the Portuguese league is a shame... let alone be beaten by it for a season.... extreme shame !

You can mostly blame Udinese-type clubs underperforming in the EL for that. Of course the big Italian clubs are weaker now than they once were, but that's what really hurts Serie A's coefficients. Hopefully Fiorentina, Inter and Parma (or Torino if Parma don't win their appeal) can go far in the EL. And that some certain black and white striped club doesn't fall flat on their face in the CL group stage again.

Exactly, it's all about the EL because the Italian teams were almost always crap in that competition and it's costing the entire league now. While we have seen recently a final between Porto vs Braga in EL. Besides, it's not that the Italian top teams are performing any better in CHL though.

That's because nobody cares about europa league

no money incentive whatsoever, just hassle for clubs trying to get a better league position, which is more important

Yeah, it's counterproductive. You have to do well in the EL for the coefficient, but for bigger teams the competition is more of a hassle than anything else.

I don't care for sticking up for the likes of Napoli and Juventus, but Napoli finished the group on twelve points, which is more than enough to see you through 99% of the time, lost out on goal difference i believe.

Juventus whilst grinding wins out in the league and not playing particularly well, actually did play well in the CL, they were much the better side against Real Madrid both legs and against Galatasaray.

Napoli and Juve both had tough groups in the CL. Napoli had Dortmund and Arsenal, and coming in third had nothing to do with them being poor. Juve had Madrid and also had to play on that nasty pitch in Istanbul after it had already been postponed once. Still think Juve could have done better regardless though (being less stubborn with tactics might have helped), but you can't fault Napoli for crashing out IMO.

After failing to get their dream manager, the legendary Unai Emery (who will extend the contract with Sevilla on Wednesday), now the poor team is focused on appointing Filippo Inzaghi.

Truly, a joke of a team.

I'm just wondering, why do you hate AC Milan so much? Is there a rivalry between Sevilla and Milan? I'd like to know if so.
