I would choose him over Alba for all the big games, starting with the game against City!

This ! Was thinking the same thing all game, he doesn't gamble and when he is up there he is slick. Alba cannot start the City game when this guy provides so much comfort.

Start Adriano away, they are likely to play with Zabaleta and Navas at Etihad. Adriano knows when to make runs and when not to do so. Zabaleta's runs can be dangerous but once stopped that space can be exploited. Also, Adriano has got a really powerful shot on him with either foot. He will shoot if not closed down which is more useful than Alba's runs.

Adriano has been really good everytime he played. Unfortunately, Tata has his starting eleven and the likes of Mascherano, Alba (even Xavi to me) will play against City.

Playing Alba will be a risk and a mistake in my humble opinion. The freak show he had against Valencia underscores the need to have Adriano in the lineup, especially for a game of that magnitude. We already have to compensate defensively for Alves pushing miles up and leaving space in behind, what would be worse is playing both him and Alba who of course loves to play as a winger and always forgetting his defensive responsibilities. Adriano is much more tempered in his approach. I'm not saying he doesn't push up, but he seems more measured and is a better option as far as defending is concerned.

Navas is already faster than even Alba, so he will eat Adriano for breakfast if we played him. I love the guy, but he is a bit slow for a FB.

+ he's a goal threat. Alba's a limited player. Another needless catalan homecoming.

Navas is almost impossible to cover. But both Alba and Adriano are very good defen defending against the quick wingers. Adriano has excellent speed. On the other side, Montoya's worst defensive problem is that the quickest can go around him sometimes. Alves is an excellent man marker.

I don't know if anyone is faster than Alba, except Bale of course. Alba can go bad, on his bad days, like the Valencia game, he is a real liability. I think he is the one Barca player who Tata really has to watch for, pull him early when he is going bad.
