For the life of me I don't know why we have hard on for PSG players

The time and energy wasted on Silva, Marquinhos, Verratt, Di Maria, Rabiot. Simply criminal.

Well I think it was worth taking a shot at the 1st three, would have been good producers and good buys. But it is clear PSG won't play for the really good ones, even if the player might want to move. They have the financial might to resist as well.

With Rabiot we are not working with PSG as a club and I think this is smart, hard to see getting a decent deal for one of their really good players working WITH them..

we thought we could walk in and take Verratti, last summer really was embarrassing even for this boards standards

T. Silva im pretty sure we were chasing since Milan

Any club willing to pay PSG 15m, plus Rabids 10m signing bonus and his 10m/year salary not to mention paying his mom too?

This. All parties are now looking for the best deal. For PSG they have the month of January to look for an exit. If Rabiot has not signed for anyone yet then it is wise for them to pursue some financial return.

If Rabiot had signed already like Todibo then it would reduce PSG sale option to us only, where we could try and negotiate a nominal fee.

For Barcelona, we have to just play it cool and not raise our bid. Infact like mentioned before I would reduce it to 9+9. That would still be Rabiot's best offer and shows were not a club to be messed around with.

It is not as if Rabiot is a world class opportunity in the market. He is a very good squad option, who thinks he is undisputable first 11. Which in itself is a problem.

thanks for the obvious.

To add more which may or may not be obvious.

PSG wants their 15m by selling to any team maybe including Barcelona and Rabiot want his 10m sign bonus and not sitting out 6 month to get his bonus.

Barca better hope no other buyer is willing to pay both the 15m to PSG and 10m bonus to Rabiot before meeting Rabiot family's salary requirements.

It is not that obvious. Rabiots mum thinks our offer will always be on the table and is using it to a) find Rabiot a better deal and b) come back to Barcelona so we raise ours.

It is time to call that bluff. Either say nothing without our offer moving it or reduce it showing the shit they have been pulling for the past 5 years at PSG won't work here.

Stupid fucking Psg. They should have negotiated with us when we put that 20 million bid in. Instead Nasser and his giant ego have left them in the shit.

I reckon Utd will beat Psg and Nasser will end up in the looney bin.

Let him go. Fuck this bullshit. I’m sick of this drama, 15 million for a player we could get for virtually free is ludicrous.

All in for de Jong. It’s not too late, pay his fucking agent, pay Ajax and be done with. Put that 15 mil to his transfer fee.

Trust your eyes.

Rabiot is a good and very experienced and still young player.

However, this kind of charts are misleading. It makes it look likes Rabiot is twice the player compared to most european midfielder.

In the direct confrontation, Allan totally destroyed PSG midfield in Paris (with Rabiot in it).

I think the reason he is so high is because he goes forward a lot with the ball instead of passing it fast like a Verratti.

Bit like Neymar that goes deep and retain the ball to progress in the final third.

Well, sometimes, an attacking player can have a terrible game but just be very decisive.

A midfielder is more than raw stats imo. You have to see him play.

Example, you are Barça fan. You very well know the all around game of a Messi. He does score, he does assists, but he also does some marvellous passes that can create the situation that will lead to a goal but won't be quatified by an assist or key pass.
Then, you can have someone else that is not very present in the game but is very decisive in goals and assists. From that, you could conclude they are equal or that the second guy is better.

There is a reason why PSG did better in CL when Marquinhos took Rabiot role.

I would say another thing potentially misleading in the graph is the players to pass to and the competition. PSG is miles ahead of their league, not as easy to complete dribbles and passes forward in La Liga or the EPL. Also you have to consider the system and even the role within the system--look at the Modric dot and Kroos dot.

Hey our friend Gomes is in there!

Overall interesting data but wouldn't overdo any interpretation from it.
