And:

Let's remove Barca's glasses or love/hate towards Rabiot and let's check all options:
1. Psg, he don't want to stay there and they have kicked him out of a team.
He is free to go wherever he wants.
And he will probably get more money elsewhere since:
1) at Psg, he can get "only" wages
2) at a new club, he will get similar wages plus probably 10-ish M sign on fee
2. Barcelona: reports are saying for Months that he is our player. Ok, some reports said that we have cooled down lately and that we have lost a contact with him...
But, let's go further:
3. Bayern, gave up from him. Is it because of Barca's deal?
4. Tottenham, there is no way that they will offer as much as Barca
5. Juve: they won't offer that much and they have just signed Ramsey on a free transfer
So, if you look at it from the "outside", Barca is the only option, plus it was reported before a New year that we have an agreement with him.
This report says that we have agreed on a wage and sign on fee.
Since we don't have to agree on a transfer fee since he is coming for free, more or less, there is nothing more to agree about...
On the other hand, there is always an option that Barca and our media are not allowed to say that we agreed everything with Rabiot, because Psg don't like us, and it is clear that we had a deal with Rabiot way before January 1st, so it is wise to "act" as if we negotiated with him now, in February or March so that salty Psg can't report us.
In short:
1. Rabiot burned all bridges with Psg
2. Bayern is out
3. other big clubs are not after him
4. Barca is the biggest club after him
5. nobody will pay him as much as we will
6. the only other options are: Tottenham for less money and a way weaker club
7. maybe Juventus for less money
Calciomercato even says that we agreed on wages, sign on fee and a sporting project, but the deal isn't signed yet:
