They were probably afraid of the referendum, because if Benedito dispatched his voting stations next to referendum voting stations he could get a lot of votes on Sunday. A shame he won't get a chance to do that this weekend.

If that was the case Benedtito would have still pretended the date was the 2nd and try to claim gained enough votes but date wrong.

He knew wasnt getting them and wouldnt be suprised if he made up the numbers and was further away than let on.

They wanted Saturdays counted as working days as they are always counted as working days. It was an attempt by Benedito to try and make out he was being screwed over.
