Alex Song

Song just doesn't quite impress me. He just doesn't. He is a decent player, would do much better in an open game where he could gallop and operate with some modicum of freedom. But he just doesn't quite have the quality, nor the technical ability in close quarters for Barcelona. He doesn't quite have the anticipation to not get into trouble, and under pressure he makes too many mistakes.

Also doesn't help that he hasn't showed to be adept at any particular quality. There is nothing he truly excels at doing.

We have never lost a game that Song started. Ergo Tata starts Song in a must win game against Sevilla. Maybe we should start Song against City too. :pep:

yeah , make him wear some of his stupid outfits during the game so the opponent focuses only on him while Messi scores the goals

His 1st half was terrible, but he improved in the 2nd. He still doesn't give me confidence. Makes some silly passing mistakes.

Song is a good player but his biggest shortcoming is positioning. He also makes the occasional silly pass but so does Xavi these days and Fabregas. He is a good backup for Busquests.
I think if he keeps it simple and improve on his positioning, he will be very good. Besides, we need physical players like him on our team.

Sad to say the best I've seen from him in a Barça shirt was indeed his debut against Real Madrid.

This is what I think of almost every time I watch him play. To this day, the very best impression he's left were the few minutes in his debut. He looked very promising back then. Now, the more I watch him, the worse he gets.

I (as usual ) thought he was good today, he didn't have any real mistakes, he frequently dropped back in the middle or roamed out wide to help our defenders cover, he had a few important clearances on set pieces, he played a very calm, simple role in his distribution and he created our third goal by powering through their midfield like it was nothing. He was certainly better than Busquets was these past few games.

This guy's world class. We'd have a midfield of steel if we need games for a double pivot (incoming Man City game I'm looking at you for preserving a lead....)

He was good, but I am disapointed by his jumping, he's not that small, yet he can't beta anyone in air, even Raktic outjumped jim.

He is no keita in the air but still provides more muscle than anyone on the team and in these games you need that, in fact we need more of that.

He is no Keita period. Yes he has the muscle but he lacks ball control and vision. He is a good player for certain situations but not for fulfilling for Busi.
