Keita's age meant he was gonna be phased out gradually. Besides, he was never an option in the defense. But with some of our youngster's promotion this season, and some of the others at its cusp, the song signing only acts as a hindrance to their first team chances.

I'd have song over JDS or sergio roberto any day of the week in case any of the holy trio gets injured and we need a backup. Don't think JDS or Sergio Robert are good enough for Barca anyway. Thiago will get playing time anyway regardless if song is here.

Some people here have some weird fetish for La Masia players. I am all for own products but don't play players who aren't good enough for barca just for the sake of them being from La Masia.

What do the young players have to do with anything? They could end up failures for all we know. For some reason people think every young midfielder we have is going to become as good as Xavi and Iniesta, so this myth that we don't need midfield reinforcements pops up. Our top midfielders are Busquets, Song, Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc and Thiago. 6 players for 3 positions, perfect for rotation. JDS is meant to go on loan otherwise it would be 7.
People seem to think that Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets can start the 50+ games we will have this season, and if they get injured just throw in the youngsters. I'm sorry but i'm glad those people arent managers, you would destroy those kids. Remember Bojan? If a young player is good enough he will get in the team, regardless of who is there. We cannot just stop buying new players and improving because "oh noes, what about the kids?" Ask Iniesta, ask Xavi even, they will eventually get in.

Seriously, obsession about La Masia is reminding me of Oleguer and his 5 seasons too much

We've had great non La Masia signings as well, and the youngsters will prove themselves if they are capable.

as I said previously on the chat , a La Masia player has to show a extraordinary potential just to make it into the trainings with the first team. JDS , Roberto and Fontas do not.
