Alexander Hleb

I still can't grasp why he was so bad for us, he played a lot of games out of position but he was so useless.. His best position is on the left where he didn't really get to play but in his last year at Arsenal playing in the number 10 role he looked fantastic at times..

In Lucho we trust!
I think it is playing with such gifted players makes some people question their own ability. It takes a special character to make it at Camp Nou.

Like Oleguer :)

To be honest I always seem to play best when I feel like I'm the best on the team, guess it happens at pro level too.

We've been terribly short of squad depth in recent seasons. If Hleb can get his act together in the attitude department he can prove to be a very useful squad player, if nothing more. We'll need the squad depth in the wings next season because if a new LW is brought for Henry he will take some time to blood in. It is helpful if his burden is shared then. Pedro can't give cover everywhere alone.

Didn't he say he was coming back for next season? He could be a useful squad player, especially if we're not getting a new left winger

Belarus international Alexander Hleb has revealed he will return to Barcelona and fight for his place.

Hleb has spent the season on loan at German side Stuttgart but has not enjoyed his spell in the Bundesliga under manager Christian Gross.

The 29-year-old attacker has a couple of seasons left on his Barca contract and wants to have another go at the Camp Nou.

"I have two years left on my contract with Barcelona, I am moving back to the club as I have the ambition to show myself, as much as other people, that I am able to perform at the highest level," he told Bild newspaper.

The former Arsenal man has revealed a fractious relationship with manager Gross during his loan spell.

Gross has guided Stuttgart to sixth in the German top-flight this term but Hleb insists he was trying to change him as a player.

"He criticised me from the first day of his reign. He did so when I dribbled with the ball, he did so when I did not play the ball fast enough," he added.

"I got the feeling that everything I did would be wrong in his eyes.

"He attempted to transform me into a different player. What made me successful in the last 10 years, he was trying to change.

"I have respect for him and his achievement after taking the club over, but I failed to get along with him personally. It did not fit."

Surely this guy isn't serious? He is complaining of not getting on with his boss at his loan club, and then he wants to try and fit back into a squad that not only did he not fit into in the first place, but that hasn't changed much since he left. And how much spanish did he learn when he was away?

i wanted him back but since yaya proved for the 4-5th time that he can play CM,
i dont think there is a need for another whiner.
