Alexis Sanchez

1?

Take a look at his latest performances. Also, if you count back to his arrival, you'll see he was below par in majority of games he played.
He's a good player with a fantastic workrate but he's just not suited to Barca.

I know , I was one of the ones who called him shit all the time but he's made a massive improvement this season and it's not fair to throw shit at him after just a couple of bad games.

He has improved, I don't think anyone is denying that.
Although, one could argue this is the same Alexis as past seasons only looking better under Tata's "direct" style. As Pedro, or Cesc.

only saw the first half and i don't think he touched the ball more than 3-4 times. not really acceptable but a lot of players played below par. even messi. lacked intensity, lacked focus and sharpness. glad i missed that second half. i really can't come up with any reasoning behind the fact that all our forwards only play well when messi is out. I've just lost my mind thinking of excuses and i can't find anymore. id like to think today was a brain fart and we will recover next game. one thing is for sure, all of our forwards need to be in sparkling form like they were when messi was out not this weird insecurity habit if we are to make this season memorable.

I think the debate is over now. Sanchez cannot play with Messi and we are not going to sell Messi, so where does that leave Sanchez? An expensive substitute, especially when Neymar is back from his injury. I will be the first to admit that he has made great strides this season, but is that down to Messi carrying that injury and then being off for 2 and half months? In the long term can anyone really see Sanchez as a Braca player through and through? Our most effective front 3 are Neymar, Messi and Pedro. Sanchez is coming to the end of his contract so if we are going to sell him and try and recoup at least some of what we paid for him, now is the time to sell. Or would you rather see him have a huge bumper contract, sit on the bench and stop the progression of the up and coming players from La Masia?

Alexis' decent goal scoring run earlier in the season was the anomaly, how he's currently playing is his norm.
Something will have to give when Deulofeu returns and I think with Alexis' heavy wages & lack of serious progression he is expendable.

I think he can play with Messi. Sanchez was playing fantastic football and scoring plenty of goals when Messi was also playing at the start of the season. He's just having a couple of bad games at the moment. I admit that I also wonder if he really is suited for Barca in the long run and whether we should cash in on him during the summer. Clubs will be willing to pay huge amounts for him after this season. If he rediscovers his form for the rest of the season I'd be reluctant to let him go though. Sure he's not your typical Barca player and his style can be a hindrance when he's off form but when he is on form he provides us with something different.

Exactly! Funnily enough, most of those who are claiming his head never posted when he played well, they just crawl out of their holes when things go bad...

Levante parked the bus in the worst possible way (for us), even the ESPN commentators were comparing them to DiMateo's Chelsea team... And I know that's no excuse for Alexis' poor game, but to claim the debate is over is taking it a little bit too far especially when Alexis is one of Messi's top assisters...

Seems the solution is for us to get the ball forward quicker and play to his strengths.
Someone i forget who (apologies) said earlier teams would not park the bus if we played faster.
We av a lot of speed in our forward line why not take advantage of that ?.

My feeling has always been that depth gives you options and when a player isn't quite having a good night, you sub for one of your other talents...Alexis just wasn't clicking on the night and should've been subbed off for Tello sooner

For me that was the whole advantage of having Leo on the shelf for a couple of months, the rest of the attacking players would have opportunities for minutes and rhythm so that they could fill in when another was not having a great match...Hard to understand Tata's approach in that regard
