I decided to invite Messi4life to a battle of wits. But then I read this

and realized he is unarmed.
What is the point of quoting the sentence i wrote?
It's true that we have much higher expectations for our players, right?

Maybe we would get the best out of Neymar and Alexis if we allowed them to play their style, not try and shoe them into our style. We spend millions and millions on attackers and then try and make them play a way that makes them less effective. Now is the time to revolutionise our players and our style and it should be based around our attackers who are all clearly world class.
we can't let everyone do what they want

Are you saying all 3 of them (Messi, Ney and Alexis) should play behind the striker, without anybody on the wings? Because that happens, if you want them just to play "their style". If Alexis can't play on right wing he should be sold, period.

And you honestly felt a need to point that out ? The part of the post I quoted plus the "To all Alexis lovers" address is a total flamebait, so don't make it seem as if you intended to make a reasonable argument here.
The arguments contained in this and the old thread against him ranged from: "He's crap, he's shit" to "he always falls over", optionally "he can't score for shit lulz". And don't forget the golden oldie: "Why doesn't he play for us like he did for Udinese ???!!!?!?!?". People went apeshit about his transfer fee as if it'll lead the club to insolvency. Then they complained about his wages. Then they said that he just doesn't fit in, optionally that he tries too hard to fit in. He's been compared to every flavour of the month player you can name and declared inferior - so much so that people were probably willing to trade him in for a bag of potatoes and an egg.

But your argument, somehow desparately trying to spin his excellent performances for Chile into an argument against him - and failing I might add - is something I haven't seen yet. I could go on an endless argument in favour of him but I won't; it's just gotten too damn boring.

Last year's Barca system didn't favour anyone.

Pedro, Neymar, Alexis, Messi, all had better performances at their NT.
Well it had to have favored Alexis because many people in here continually point to his stats that show he had a 'great' season. So if Tata's style did favor Alexis, and if history is any indication, won't Alexis actually suffer next season reverting back to a La Masia-based system (Pep/Tito/LE)? Under the former coaches he looked lost.

I think Chile's coach was lobbying for Alexis and talking directly to LE in that statement. Hypothetically, I'd be happy if LE unlocked Chile Alexis and we kept him, but if he is pinned down in that RW, I'd prefer he leave to a team where he can be used to his potential and we use a La Masia player to fill that role.

Alexis had a good season because he is a jugadorazo (;)), not because the system helped him a lot. In my mind, Alexis will continue to improve if we invest in him, because he is a player with an unique set of skills.

I really want Alexis to show his class today and knock out Spain for good. Maybe then Barcelona fans see the light and finally fully appreciate him.

what a player we have. One of those who light your heart up with happiness, such a delight to watch.

I am pretty sure, if he wasn't ours, we would've been signing him this summer anyways for much much more than what we actually paid
