Alexis Sanchez

Pep reportedly wanted to sell Pique, Alves and Cesc after just one season. If he had stayed and got his wish(if true) then for all we know, he could have sold Alexis that summer or the next one.

Don't buy that. Pep wanted Alexis, and trusted him. Even rested him vs Real, along with other important players, to have him 100% against Chelsea in the second leg, 3 days later, when he played great for the most part of that game. Alexis also had a couple of injuries that season, like the one vs Sociedad, early in the season. He was, is and will be 100% dedicated to the team he plays for. Pep loves that in players, the desire to work hard with and for the team.

Because it's speculation from me, just like with you. We don't know what Pep would have done to be fair and we don't know what Lucho's plans are and how they will work out. Luis Suarez might turn out to be a fantastic buy(Speaking purely football terms) and Alexis might have a great time at Arsenal or vice versa(Hopefully not), we got to wait and see.

For all we know, Alexis might want to leave himself, like I said previously in this thread, his NT Coach has kind of tried to push him or persuade him to leave Barcelona for a team that fits him more(Sampaoli).

Speculations are fine, nothing wrong with them. People can play with the woulds and ifs from time to time. No harm in that. If we were to comment only on what we know for sure, this forum would be boring as hell.

Juve are stingy as fuck. When was the last time they spent more than 30 million? I mostly remember them going after free transfers and players with 1 year left on their contracts

That's true. :)

Has he even commented on that link himself?

Nope, but it's been reported in England as well that he has agreed personal terms with Arsenal and that's the reason he wasnt included in the Suarez deal since he always preferred to join Arsenal due to personal reasons(London comes to my mind), but that a fee with Barcelona is yet to be agreed.

I promised to myself I won't comment on the issue anymore, but god damn it, this comment is so disrupted for reality it's not even funny anymore.

- no more than decent season:  most goals and assists out of any winger in any league except C.Ronaldo (who's a winger in theory alone).
- not a match winner: check this season against Real Madrid, or check what he did to England on Wembley. Or check what he did at this WC. Or check what he did to Milan, Inter and Juve in Serie A.
- the Barca fans that wanted him gone after what was a good first season are people that didn't even like him in the first place.

In 3 years, he only had one bad season (actually, more like six months, from september 2012, until april 2013 -- when he seemed incapable to score).

If Pep was still at the team, he wouldn't have sold him. Not in this form and not at this perfect age for playing world class football. And not to fund the transfer of a close to 28 ys old player, maybe past his best years, with mental problems.

- i mentioned his goal against Real. it was great but pretty much out of character for him. he doesn't consistently produce moments like that.

- he scored twice against England in a friendly? great. Suárez scored twice against them in a crucial WC game, his first game back 4 weeks after keyhole knee surgery and he was blatently only about 70-80% fit.

- he has had a decent WC. nothing more. plenty of players have had a better tournament.

- i like him and would be happy if he stayed but i just think some members on here are going overboard with their assessment of his ability/performances this past season. for every magical moment i've seen 10 moments where he misses a golden goal scoring chance or loses possesion with a bad touch or runs cluelessly into a corner.

- he'll do well at Arsenal but still a team with Alexis, Özil, Ramsey etc etc is good but very unlikely to win the PL or CL.

he's not a match winner, game changer, whatever you want to call it IMO...

If Alexis goes to arsenal he will have 20+ goals and 10+assists easily in EPL.

Ah, fodder for the I told you so-thread!

:/ He is talented to do that. I am not being bold here by saying he will be the top scorer or top assists or something like that. With the likes ozil Ox Ramsey he can do wonders unless he gets the arsenal sickness too.
