i could predict the next 10 years of him with the ball before he even recieved it.

would have been alot better with neymar starting

While he wasn't terrible, I don't think many would call his display "good". He squandered possession a few times, and he seemed to break up good barca movements when he got involved. He moved well off the ball a few times, but he could produce that last bit of skill to get something positive out of it. Alexis has trouble getting into the flow of the game against certain teams, and today city where effective in hindering him in doing so.

What is most frustrating about him is that his awareness of the surroundings is very poor. He snapped up 2 passes that were destined for Alves because he didn't realise Dani was behind him. I think I've watched so much of Barca and so little of other teams in the last few years that something like this pisses me off way more than players missing chances or defending poorly.

He was great at his primary position as an overlapping RB some good overlapping runs with Dani the RW

I dont know but when neymar come son it looks so easy ney-alves connection in 5 minutes.. and with alves i saw it very seldom.. he should cut more inside how neymar and then play with messi

Yes, Neymar's impact was visible. Took him only a few minutes to link up with Alves (assist) and Messi (don't know how Messi missed that shot). Alexis' just doesn't fit the RW role as he does nothing but put in hopeful crosses to Messi. He's clearly useful but in tight games he doesn't do it for me. I hope Tata realized this now and we can go with my dream Neymar-Messi-Pedro lineup from now on in these kind of games.

Alexis linked up with Dani Alves the same way Neymar did. But Alves put that one a couple of inches wide. He was good on the night. Neymar certainly wasn't any better.

Exactly, just around the 67 min mark. It was a nearly identical situation, where Alves actually had an even better angle for scoring too.
