Alphonso Davies

Didn't Davies start as a wideman and was converted to fullback?

Question is why would you want to make him a conventional winger, when you can still benefit from his attacking prowess as a fullback? More options to overload the opposition.

Now if he can give prime Bale kind of influence and numbers, then I would hold my hat up to the suggestion. Luckily he is under a genius manager who will know whats best for business.

[Plettigoal] Madrid have told Davies to not sign a new deal for Bayern. Madrid bosses want him. Alphonso's negotiations with Bayern keep stalling.

Seems like Bayern fans are 50/50 on him. On one hand he has declined since that 2020 season and makes mistakes both with and without the ball. But they also see that he has potential and that the market lacks good available LBs. A move away could be the spark he needs to find his old form.

Why are we not in for him?

I am sure he's better than Balde for now. Plus we need depth in LB and getting him free would be amazing.

I wouldn't want a player who doesn't want to be here anyway.

But financially we should be a place where we can offer the same as Madrid. Getting him free will offset some costs.

One of the most overrated players of recent years. In fact I think he's only actually really been a top player under Flick.

Never hit the heights since, defensively suspect against any winger with a bit of technical ability and not really an attacking threat most games either.

His COVID breakout season has helped maintain his reputation with those who don't watch him regularly.

They do have Adam Aznou who was one of ours at one point and he's really talented. I think for that reason I've seen some Bayern fans warm up to the idea that losing Davies may not be bad thing if Aznou ends up being the real deal.

I think it was a perfect storm for Davies when Flick came aboard at Bayern. Flick changed things around and got a lot out of him because it allowed him to use his speed and aggressiveness.

But I think once Flick left he never was the same. He looks a lot more subdued and he just doesn't fit the slower system.

For me he was their player of the season for that 2020 CL campaign. This fuker basically ran through the entire length of the field with ease against us in 2020. It's incredible to see Yamal absolutely cooking him yesterday. Nice revenge.
