As I said when he was said, you don't spend that kinda money on a player that isn't going to develop into one of the leading players of his generation.

To think Madrid got Kroos a player made for us, for far less.

One thing is that he's not the only flop at barca and was better at previous clubs....look at turan too. it might have something to do with the barca playing system. even neymar had trouble adjusting to it in his first season.

Yes. That's a big part. Gomes doesn't fit. Contrary to what Robert said to the press, he doesn't have the attributes needed to be a cm for Barça. He hasn't even showed glimpses, nothing to give a glimmer of hope he could fit one day. Licho is destroying him.

Not his fault the dumb coach keeps playing him, despite Gomes showing nothing to deserve so many minutes.

Totally agree with you. He absolutely doesn't fit our system. He wasn't exactly Ronaldinho in Valencia but let's be honest he was much better than he is today. Today he is an absolute disaster, he can't fit in and because of that he for sure has psychological barrier.

I honestly feel sorry for this guy. He for sure reads news, he is aware that Barca supporters hate him and because of that he is under huge amount of pressure, he can't deliver and he is only getting worse. I hope we end this torture in summer, it would be much better for the club but also for him. I am sure he would be much better player in some other team.

Messi would never speak out against his teammates like that.

Hopefully the next coach that comes in will toss Gomes to the reserves or tell him to leave. But since it will likely be Unzue, I doubt it.

Well it's in local newspapers in Croatia that Messi wants Gomes out and is pissed on Lucho.

But in croatian newspapers they also say that Modric, Kroos and Bale demanded Zidane not to line up RONALDO against AM.

So... what to say ;)

I didn't want the guy because he is bad fit,many had same opinion too. Others didn't want him because they thought he isn't good enough for Barca.

Thing is,even if he wasn't good enough for us,or bad fit for us or even both. I doubt any of us thought he will be THAT bad, it is just a nightmare for everyone including Gomes himself. There is no explanation for it. This guy seem mentally off ,he is probably doing a lot of things right in the training that makes Lucho believes things could change but it seem hopeless.

I mean compare him to Paco,who isn't the greatest fit either and had far worse start and even have to compete with MSN for minutes,he has improved a lot in 2017 with way less minutes and faith from the coach while Gomes is on steady decline. This is just not a coincidence.
Song himself was able to have good games from here and their and was impact player at times.
