André Gomes

Horatio

You're welcome
 There you go, we have some use for him. But jokes aside - I was never a Gomes hater, I think he will improve even more - slowly but surely.

I like the kid as well and obviously hope he improves. But not sure if he has a future here.

The thing is we were buying him thinking he was good enough for the starting eleven. 50m + a Ballon D'or clause, lol. Such a clause would not have been included if we had wanted him as a rotation player only.

That clause makes Valencia look worse than Barca.

Barca would include that clause if thought he could be a squad player as nothing to lose if it brings any value to Valencia.

No, Gomes was bought from Valencia with the hot prospect idea (just as Umtiti and Digne transfers), he was supposed to gradually replace someone among Iniesta and Rakitic in the centre midfield of Lucho's 4-3-3 formation. You don't spend 30m + 20m bonuses for a guy who ends up being just part of the rotation system. He is improving in the eyes of most forum members, but that is based solely on his disaster first season. Matter of fact everyone on the squad under Valverde improved their performance this season, except for Denis Suarez and the permanently injured Rafinha.
