Didn't say he got the quality to play for us. But his role today as a midfield is to mainly defence (Rakitic too mainly defence). I have never liked our style under Valvedre. Gomes did his job and ,defensive wise, it was quite Okay actually.

This was one of his better games because all that was required from him was to keep possession and circulate the ball by playing safe passes to defense players and Rakitic (who was doing the hard work with the long balls). Had a couple of tackles too. Still found a way to lose the ball in a clumsy fashion two-three times as well. Such a mediocre player.

How fucking low is the bar set when doing 3, 4 interceptions is not being useless for a Barca mid? Maybe if he was a Leganes player this could pass as an acceptable game but not for fucking Barcelona.

Interception is the most difficult and most efficient defensive attribute. People think tackling is the best defensive attribute, but tackling is the second easiest and second least efficient defensive attribute next only to block.
