well it depends on when he signed the deal w/ Zenit and if Arsenal tore it up and signed a new one. In the article it said:

2006 + 4 = 2010 ... so when exactly did his contract take effect; in the summer of 2006 or the winter of 2010? And again, I cannot confirm if he signed a new deal w/ Arsenal. Logic would dictate that Arsene would have forced him to sign a new contract, cuz I cannot see Arsene dropping £15m on a player for 18 months.

Arsenal fans say that he is very, very lazy when the ball isn't played directly to him... isn't that exactly the main complaint against Ibra? And movement is even more important on the wing.

Arsenal fan here. i would love it if Arshavin went to Barca, i have never seen a lazier player and unfit player. Watching Arshavin week in week out I cant belive the opinion you have of him. Arshavin is capable of doing great things, he got two great feet with powerful shots. He's also very good at running with the ball and make a good pass in tight space, but Arshavin would not suit a possession team at all. he's the perfect counter attack player who you leave upfront and use him when doing your counter attack.

He's proberly the worst at our team keeping possession after Walcott, the amount of careless passes he does is crazy, he is not capable of playing full 90 mins even after 18 months at arsenal. He's always on his feet after 60 mins. And he is far far from a cool finisher, he almost always rashes infront of goal and go for power. He has missed atleast 10 easy chances from 12 yards. one of the worst was the Birmingham game when we were 1-0 up and he missed from 6 yards, ended up dropping points.

One thing barcelona is great at is the pressing game, lets just say at Arsenal we have half the work rate barcelona has, and when we consider Arshavin lazy.....you can imagine how much he actually works for the team when we dont have the ball...zero. Earlier on there was a game against Wolves away where Sagna complained to Cesc that Arshavin was not helping on, the first 20 mins Wolves started really well and they targeted Sagna as Arshavin was playing ahead of him, every time they had the ball their left back and left winger had 2-1 against Sagna, while Arshavin stood and waited on the half line. If you guys find Zlatan frusturating, you have no idea what you gonna get with Arshavin.

Arshavin is also the last guy you want around when things are not going well......its shocking that in a young team like Arsenal, he's always the first to give up when things are going bad. For Arshavin to complain when he's nowhere near our best player is the worst. I would say Van persie, Cesc and Nasri are all better fotballers than him. So I pray to god he gets sold as he will never have a manager like Wenger who will put up with his nonesense.

Arshavin offers more versatility than Villa. Hes your AM, winger and striker(if the need be). Hes a late bloomer and players like him 've a longer durability. Hes a class act. Not many better wingers than him out there. Arsenal play a bit similar to us so i don't think he'll take so much time adapting here. He has all the skills needed to succeed with us. Dynamic, pace, dribbling, finishing, vision, touch, movement and a great shooting range.

Actually, Villa can play at the same positions as Arhavin. Striker, LW and even AM. About durability, you can never be certain of that. But one thing I'm certain of is the older a player gets, the slower he'll be. If Iniesta get injured, Keita, Messi or even Toure can play in his position. And we always have our B team. Why spend money if we have enough talent in the youth ranks?

I've seen by myself A LOT of Arsenal fans, who can't stand the russian anymore. I've not watched many Arsenal games this season (just don't have the time), but such a mass opinion can't be a coincidence. Certainly there must be something wrong with Arshavin. How you know - Arsenal fans are usually rating their players even more higher than they deserve.

Put it this way if Arsenal got a bid for 12-14 million, Arsenal would bite your hand off. Not only is he extremly lazy, but his general play is poor, he's very careless with possession, and worst of all he has poor stamina. This is a player that cant play 90 mins fully, he always afdes away after 60-65 mins. But he does have great shots and can strike really well with both feet...thats his strenght. if you check the Arsenal fans do you want Arshavin to stay its really 50/50 and thats tell you everything.
