Andrés Iniesta

unbelievable artist of the football...
i've never seen a player like him in that position of the field...
no other words for him...
simply a legend...

he isn't over and can do much at least for another two years...
but, imo, he cannot play too many games...
we need to find new and different solution, because unfortunately he isn't replicable and eternal...
and in the last season we have seen it...

so is possible to manage him in the best way.

I think he can be an effective sub for us for 2 or 3 more seasons. He just doesn't have the legs to be starting anymore, shame.

Hopefully yes. He cannot be a starter next season.

Iniesta, Roberto, Rakitic and Umtiti need replacing, they can then become solid bench warmers.

Rakitic, Umtiti and Roberto should start. I still believe in Rakitic-Busquets-Jorginho with Roberto as left back (NOT right back).

Get me some of what your smoking, Roberto as LB?
:alveshat:

Roberto would be masterclass at LB. LB does not need to attack as much as RB, also being right footed LB helps to add even more control to midfield as Roberto can cut inside. LB is the postion which fully maximises Roberto's combination of characteristics with maximised (i.e. 99%) efficiency

The primary attacking goal of a full back is to link up with the winger on their flank and put crosses in. Full backs almost always play on the side of their strong foot so they're able to put in crosses quickly. Why would Roberto be cutting in, that is Neymar's job. That's why wingers usually play of the flank that is opposite to their strong foot, so they can cut in and shoot.

Alba is left footed and plays LB, Alves is right footed and plays RB. Messi is left footed and plays RW and Neymar is right footed and plays LW, get the idea here?

Also that stuff your saying about the LB not needing to attack as much as the RB is complete and utter nonsense. In our system our full backs are required to push up the pitch and provide support for our wingers and midfielders.

In the modern game, fullbacks are required to be something more than just roadrunners. Reducing (i.e. limiting) the role to this represents a waste of resources, a feeling of unrealized potential. Perhaps a more globalised left back adds something more, represents a focus of gravity, some more balance.
Furthermore, asymmetricity is essential.

You wrote a whole lot here without really saying anything meaningful.

EDIT: The last thing that's going to add balance to team is by advising the full backs to cut inside, if anything it's going to significantly destabilize it. Good luck defending on the counter when your FB is at the the top of the opponents box.
