Antoine Griezmann

Improvin' Perfection!!
Stop shitting on Griez so much - He is the only attacker in our team who can do 1-2s with Leo!

It's the stupidity of Valverde that we should concentrate on!

Not everyone, go back to April/May in this same thread and you will see 70% of the posters here supporting Griezmann's signing. Same with Coutinho, Jamdav and BBZ convinced most posters here that Coutinho is the second coming of Christ.

So Barto= Jamdav/BBZ
Socios= most Barcaforum casual posters

I’m pretty sure most were against it. From the very off I was too. Good player, but not a fit for our system. Which is what I’ve said since we were linked with him.

Not a fan of this transfer, but...I'm sure with another manager he could link up so much better with Messi and the rest...it.a just that the tactic upfront doesn't suit him right now...well, hope for the best at least...

Massive stupidity from the board getting griezmann. Everyone could see his best position is where messi plays, no coincidence his best game was against betis when messi was injured. Should have bought someone who actually plays as a LW/LF like Son. Maybe put in a bid for him in January as Tottenham are all over the place.
pretty sure the board has no idea how to use him in first place. griezmann is bought just in order to make people forget about neymar

1-2 with Leo? They completed 0 passes between them in the 1st half lmao what 1-2 are you talking about?

Well, I thought that Cou will be the new Iniesta.
In his Liverpool's days he looked like an awesome LW-Cam-Cm hybrid who could be turned into a new Iniesta.

Only rare posters were saying that he can't play as a CM back then.
So, we had hopes about him as a Cam.

No one ever thought about him being a LW.

Regarding Griezz, I thought that he is a bad no9, but I thought: he can't be worse than Dembele and Malcom, so let's try.
I never believed that he could be better no9 than Suarez.
I hoped that he will be able to play as a hybrid Lw-Cf like Cr7 where we would have Griezz and Suarez in the box against parked buses.
But since he is short, slow, we don't cross and he is bad at finishing, there is zero use of him being in a box as a no9 or a hybrid Lw-Cf like Cr7.

But I didn't know that he has declined so much and lost all his pace.
After 2 preseason games, it was quite clear what will happen.

So, today:
Lone no9=bad
Hybrid Lw-No9=bad
Lw=bad
Rw=bad
Bench/sold=good

I didn't see that at all. You had the naymar supporters masquerading as barca supports, those against the coutinho signing and even potroh all against him being signed.

I think even bbz may even have been against this one as well.

Pretty much, the majority consensus was skeptical at best. No where near an optimistic mood regarding his transfer rumours.

Greizmann is not integrated well into the offense yet, I blame him, his teammates and Valverde. However, his overall contribution to the team is much, much better than what we got from Coutinho.

No offence but having Griezmann playing near our goal defending like a left back doesn't really help us much. It's too extreme, he needs to be forward to support the attack.

To be fair, he was tested as a RW and as a CF last match.
Griezmann is not the most technically gifted player. He has other attributes at which he is good and seems to thrive under an organized system. Whatever position EV will play him, he will not be good enough without that system.

Hasn't played well at LW or CF. The whole team is playing crap, maybe we should try 4-2-3-1. Messi in a free role behind suarez, dembele as LW and griezmann as RW, with de Jong and Arthur as the 2 midfielders. He can go central when messi drifts wide. Off the ball it can be 4-4-1-1 as messi and suarez don't press so the team is quite solid in defence like valverde's 1st season

Has been suggested countless of times. Its de facto a 4-4-2 at best, more likely a 4-2-5. I dont think you can make that work with Messi.
