They are out of the CL, D. Costa is joining them in January, i don't see any reason why we can't get him on January.

Liverpool might also be more open to letting Coutinho go, but I think we might get some agreement for him to join us in the summer.

Because Atletico are still in the race for the league title.

We cannot use him in the CL anyway. Same with Liverpool and Coutinho. Want to get a top 4 place and Coutinho not able to play in the CL for us.

It is true we can't use him in the CL but that also has its benefits. With him in our squad it will give us more depth, we can rest key players ahead of CL ties. With Coutinho i understand he will be missing out on playing the CL, but Antoine knows he is already out so that won't be an issue. It is true Atletico is still in the race for the league title and it wouldn't make sense to strengthen a team that is ahead of them in the race. Still i think they wouldn't be too upset if we paid his release clause and he decides to leave. He was already heading out before their transfer ban and he showed loyalty by staying then.

His buyout clause is 200m. He stayed, signed a new contract with a higher salary and that buyout for the entirety of the 2017/18 season.

It goes down to 100m on the 1st of July.
